When you're playing splitscreen with a friend, which do you prefer? Vote, post, and explain why you prefer one or the other. I personally like to have it horizontally. Mainly because it is what I've always played it as. Although for whatever reason, when I play Splinter Cell Cooperative, vertical splitscreen just seems to work.

Both are pretty much even to me but I have a widescreen hdtv and sometimes I do like playing splitscreen vertical. So I can play on the left side and the other player can play on the right, vice versa. I know most games support horizontal splitscreen and I don't mind at all, but sometimes I feel images get stretched and its hard to see the sky or the ground. So I guess it just matter on how big is your screen.

Yeah, I'm starting to find that I am preferring vertical splitscreen over horizontal because just as you said, when on a larger television screen, like mine being a 51 inch widescreen, I find if it is vertical, it isn't as stretched as it is when it's horizontal.

i like horizontal, since you can pan, in most games you have to look for things to your left and right, not above you, so its more practical. that point about the new widescreen tv's is a good one too.
