your basic options are

1 wait till your older (heck no)

2 buy it without them knowing (whether it be off a friend or certain stores that dont check id)

3 convince them its alot less violent that it really it (and never let them see you play it haha)

id personally go with the second one (that it if your tv isnt where they always are when you play)

Wait until you're seventeen. No amount of talking will convince me to let my kids play fallout 3. When they reach 17, I'll play it with them, but until then, no. Those are my rules. If they are your parents rules, whether or not you think they are right, you need to obey them. One day, you'll understand.

I'm thriteen as well. I cannot play GTAIV, not even the third one.

I have them, i bought them from firends and they have no idea :P

But the most important thing is the TV in your room. If your parents won't give you a good and valid reason, they're paranoid about it. I got a flat screen tube TV at walmart 3 years ago for $50! My parents dont care, I have to clean my room today, it's not bad, just not my dad's expectations. Parents want everything done THIER way, it might seem unfair, but when your married (or not) and have children, you'll want it done too.

Tell your parents why exactely they wont let you have one. What if it's a rainy day and you have nothing to do? What if your sick? I watch TV and sleep in my room when I'm sick from school. I don't like playing xbox when I'm sick, because my parents think i'm faking or something, unless im puking im usually to sick to play anyway.

So your moms afraid of dirt on your bed, get a gaming chair or something, or just dont let your friends on your bed, or just say screw your mom, she doesn't sleep in it, so why should she say no TV because bed is a bit dirty? Every room in my house a TV, except for kitchen, basement, and bathroom.

Well what I'm trying to say is that you need to think of good points to argue. IO am a great arguer I think. I've gotten them to help buy a 120 GB harddrive. I dont mean to offend you but your parents are unfair and mean. They're brain dead to the fact your a teenager and you deserve more privacy! Tell them that your hogging the TV in the living room or where ever it is anyway.

Well best of luck dude, and sorry for the long post, I hate parents like yours!

l33isb345t

First of all, avoid absolutely everything this guy says. Just because you're thirteen doesn't mean you have to be an **** to the two people who will always love you and provide you with everything you need. l33isb345t, don't you get it? Iwonder why games have a rating system these days, not too long ago it would have been impossible for kids your age, oops I meant "teenagers" to play games like GTA and Fallout. Sure, OP, Fallout 3 is a great game but don't go buying things against your parents will like the dumbass I quote. In the future, I don't want it to be socially acceptable for game such as these to be played by even younger people than yourself. You sound mature, the best advice I can give you is to show that to your parents unlike the other kid ^ that goes behind their back. Most kids your age are not mature, hence the reason the ESRB was put in place. If you don't get it, then wait a few more years and Im sure you will. Don't hat your parents for caring like this guy, show them that you care too and maybe they'll let you play it. Good luck!

Do THIS, but instead say "Can I have Fallout 3... can I have Fallout 3."

1) You can say "I'm mature enough and I'm not going to the open world and streets to find prostitutes and illegal firearms to harm an organism just because of a game."

2) Tell them "The game is on sale for only $60! We should buy it now before it goes back to $80!"

3) When you have a chance to go to your local retailer, try to get Fallout 3 with your money.

4) Wait 4-5 more years to get the game.

Start yelling/cursing/hitting them, they will either let you have your way or they'll bring you on Maury.

I'm having the same problem. Except..

Im 15, I already have 4 M games, And I do have a TV in my room

But Fallout 3 is #1 on my 360 list But, My Parents Wont let me get it cause it's to Gory.

The 4 M games are Halo 3, Oblivion, Fable 2, and Gears 2. On Gears I turned the Gore off before I started playing So they'll never know.

I REALLY want Fallout 3. But..Its gory.

Is there a filter in it?

-

Anyways, My advise to you is First try and let them put a TV in your room. It'll make everything easyer.

Then go for Fallout 3. .... :)

Tell them they are being really unfair. Ask them if they are aware of what 13 year olds are doing these days and tell them there is nothing wrong with you playing that game. Tell them everyone looks at porno it's a part of life, do they expect you not to look at porno? LOL tell them little Timmy up the block has that game and all the achievements and he still wets the bed. I don't know tell them that your 13 and not 9, soon enough you'll be 18 and if they don't start letting you make decisions on what you like for yourself than when you are old enough your going to make the wrong ones because you'll rebel for not having what you wanted/.

Show that your mature. Clean up your room more, get good grades do your chores and be polite and caring to your parents. This should work for some parents.

I would tell you a way, but it is a very lengthy process. It would probably take me 4 - 5 years to explain it. But if you have the time....

Wow, didn't even realize how old this thread is. Nice going indirulz1234. :P

[QUOTE="Phoenix534"]

[QUOTE="s2i2p2i2o"] haha his parents are UNFAIR, not stupid! ceells87

I don't know. I'm thirteen and my parents let me play Fallout 3, Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. And they'd probably let me get Gears of War if I wanted to.

and your family is one of the reasons video games take so much flak and keep giving people bull**** reasons to pass laws on them. It's the freaking law that you have to be a certain age to play those games and thats for a reason. whether you like it or not doesnt matter, when your old enough and can vote and actually do something about it speak up. My brother is 14 and is reasponsible, does that mean im gonna let him use my car cause he wont go out and run people over, or because he believes he can drive. No, its cause he's not old enough and i kinda like obeying the easy simple laws we have so harsher ones dont get made. talk to your parents and try doing the same. No matter how maturwe you THINK you are, doesnt change the law

Lol! So kids can see movies where there is the same or more violence in and cant play a game where there is almost no blood like halo?

Here's a thought, i have exactly the same problem, what if you get ur parent to look at some of these forums and see how so many people are being upset by their parents and say this generation are being over protected!

Either that or say if u don't let me have this game ill enlist to the army and when im 18 i can catch up on the action i missed!

Fallout 3 is rated M for mature, for a reason. If you parents say no, listen to them. Your parents have lived much longer than you and know what's best. If only there were more parents like yours who actually cared about what games their kids play like yours video games wouldn't get bashed by the media, and politicians wouldn't be trying to censor games so that kids can't play them when they shouldn't be in the first place.

Dreamable

Completely agree. If you can't go to the store and buy it yourself why do you need to convince anyone...there is a rating system for a reason. Next you'll be asking everyone for help to convince your parents to let you watch porn. I actually give props to your parents for actually giving a darn about what kind of games you are playing...Parents-1 TC-0

If you had parents that did care about you and don't give a frak what you do then most likely you'd have as many M rated games you desire.

But ... since they don't let you have what you want indicates that you have caring parents that will restrict you from things you think is fine.

Get over it. This is minor. Save you agruments with parents for something more important like, say, a tattoo.
