They just won't let me get a 360 for no reason.Halowars11
Ahem - there is ALWAYS a reason. Parents don't say "no" without any reason at all. Have you asked them why? And here's a hint - if they say "Because we said so" - DO NOT argue - just back away for now.
The reason could be I brought a wii but it was used for $200
that's all I can think of as far as reasons go.
Well, you could try to
-Get a job and get a 360 by yourself, assuming that the reasons they aren't getting you one is because of money trouble.
-Do well in school and get involved to make yourself look accomplished and deserving.
-Get someone else in your family to get it. Your grandparents, uncle, aunt, cousin, etc. Unless your parents won't let you have one at all no matter how you get it.

Then tell them that you will sell your Wii to pay for a 360 - because you would rather have the games that are on the 360. Depending on how old you are - if they ask what types of games - show them Viva Pinata, Kameo, Any Sports games - and anything else that doesn't have much violence. Show them all the cutsie games you can find and tell them you really would rather play those games than your Wii.
Also telling them you would like to sell your Wii to buy the 360 will not only show them you're serious - but that you're willing to take financial responsability for getting one. Between trading in your Wii (or selling it) and any older consoles you may have (like and Xbox 1 or PS1) - you should be pretty close to being able to get one version or another of a 360.
:)

I guess that's pretty much the reason right there. You're asking for too much with these purchases as it is if you're still under your parent's roof. Gaming consoles are expensive and games themselves aren't that cheap these days. They probably think you have too many video games and even from what you've told us, your parents seem to be the kind that want you to put more focus into other things in life besides this. If you had to kiss butt in order to get them to get your Wii, then there's really no chance of you getting a 360 for now
Looks like you can go one of two routes:
The reason I think they let me get a wii was that it was a family console.
because most of the games on wii are multiplayer.

what kind of reason is that for a parent to not allow their child to get a 360? how old are you? I'm guessing your parents aren't letting you get one is because they hear about all the M-rated games and violence on it and they don't want you exposed to it. BUT that's just speculation on my part... because I don't know why! honestly, just tell us the real reason why they won't let you get one.
I've told who and I'm 15 and my parent's don't care about violence they let me watch R rated movies by myselfHalowars11
Cool - I meant no offense to you man - by referring to you as a kid.
Some people are allot more childish than you - regardless of their age.
Anyway - if they don't care about violence - you should be golden - Show them games like Scene It and tell them you really would like to play that as a family with them. ;)
lol thats kinda what i did but to get my PS3(witch i traded for a xbox 360) but i just wlked around like a slumpLooks like you can go one of two routes:
Either of them should workchoffy
- Tell them how good of a kid you would be. Say that you would do your homework and chores before you can play, which would make sure they get done
- Get caught watching porn and say that you don't have anything else to do in your free time

get back to me when u do that *gives the wink and the gun*Well Im a parent and I dont let my son play anything M rated at all. He can have whatever else he wants though.
The reason I like the 360.
Big time parental control to where I can even set it to how many HOURS he plays. and games like Banjo Kazooie, Viva Pinata, all the sports games.
As long as hes not on XBL Im okay, and playing the games that he SHOULD be playing. Its no way he can even sniff Gears 2, or any M rated game.
Act like a zombie or space alien. copy one from dead space those doodes at the start.
WAAANT... XoX3T.. GiiiVEE *vomits blood* *attacks random thing* *walks slowly towards mother* *eyeballs come out* = xbox360 gears2 pwnage baby. works all the time, no, i didn't do it, but it works try it. :)
Best way to convince them to get a 360 is to get good grades.
After that, getting a part time job would help, too.
Depending on how old you are, if you're really young, you can get a paper route. If you're like 13-14 you can try working at a grocery store on the weekends. If you're 15-16 then work at the grocery store every other day. But if it got to that point, you could just buy it yourself.
Oh, and don't do what that guy said where you say you don't want a Wii anymore and stuff.
That'll just make your parents think that you don't know how to choose what you want and make it last.
Well, you may have bought a used Wii for $200, but $200 is still a lot of money. Your parents are probably just thinking that you just bought a console, and you should enjoy it.
Raise the money for a new one, try harder in school, and ask your parents when ever you have a chance. Ask them why, and when they tell you the problem, try and make a deal with them to resolve it.

See I disagree with you there. As a parent also, I view Parenting Controls as a way out. I let my kid play Halo and stuff. Now, Gears of War? Hell no; it's way too violent with all the bodies blowin up and chainsawing peple in half. But I made sure to let my kid know that these are what they're called:
Games
He knows better to go out and try these things.
Hell, my parents let me play M since the day I got my first system, and I turned out fine (for the most part). I figure he can do the same
parents are extremely, horribly, annoyingly stingy about these things. they don't understand that you want multiple systems. i used to want a 360 and a wii, they were firm in saying i didn't need all that stuff. it pissed me off.The reason could be I brought a wii but it was used for $200

Hmm, yeah same with me. well...except that afternoon in late August where, out of nowhere, I screamed "GET OVER HERE!" shot a guy with a harpoon, and uppercutted him through a roof. I don't know what came over me that day.

Ok first of all tell them the 360 doubles as a DVD player/Music player. Secondly tell them that the future of entertainment medium is games. Tell them (and this is a fact) that games sell more than ticket prices at a cinema. They would be investing in something for the future.
Failing that just keep asking till they give in:P
