Well I convinced my parents that the 360 was worth it by telling them that it has the best online play out of alll the consoles and that all my friends had it. Not to mention that it has gone down in price since it first came out. If your parents don't want you playing video games at all then you have a problem. Just keep bugging them until they give in.
Be mature about it and tell them you won't use it 24/7 or become addicted like some kids. I assume your under 17 which means let them look at the ESRB ratings on games before they let you get it.
