How do you treat your Xbox 360?

Do you give it a name? Do you smash it when you can't pass Mile High Club on Veteran(Call of Duty 4)? Do you ever clean it? Do you leave it horizontally or vertically when you play? I want to know about the relationships between gamers and their consoles.

I call my console "Snow White". :oops:

When I am at home I have it vertically and when I am at university I have it horizontally.

I move around with it quite a bit so I do have to take care of it.

Best console out there.

Horizontal in a well ventilated space. The only time it gets touched is to open the DVD drive, or to plug a play and charge kit in.

I don't want to break it while getting annoyed at Mile High Club, as that would just make me even more upset!

I keep it horizontal, far away from any other objects, wipe it whenever it looks dusty (surprisingly often). I get really PO'd when people put stuff on my 360, like plates or whatever, I flip out!

giving it a name is pretty weird jsut in case you didnt already know.

i take care of my controllers wash hands before you play. keep it horizontal to avoid any possible falls. well ventlated. disks out of the console after finished playing. only contact wen moving the console to a bigger tv or opening the disk drive. also all the disks properlly cared for.

Even my wife knows about my other woman I used to love her, her name was Cocaine, then she introduced me to her sister her name is Black Tar Heroin and shes slim and runs quieter than Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell, she has green eyes (if I make her angry they can turn red) I prefer to lay her down and play with her, sometimes I watch her and my wife get together its beautiful.

Why the drug references? Because XBOX is my Anti-drug

Black Tar also has a DUFF (Da Ugly Fat Friend) named PS3 she has 1 blue eye and 1 green eye, she can be cool sometimes we mainly watch Blu-ray movies together but I don't mess with her much because she doesn't put out that often, she makes me wait and wait for her to put on some good software, meanwhile she tries to tell me how much better she is than Black Tar, plus shes HOMELESS but she is lookin to have one soon:lol:

Interesting thread idea lol. I don't name it but I sure take better care of it than anything else in my room. Hell I paid $400 for it I better take care of it. Sometimes I'll be waking by, notice dust on the top and just can't resist the urge to wipe it down real quick, and that's not like me at all.

Does anyone no if that spray duster stuff is ok to spray on the vents of the xbox? Its that stuff that comes in a spray can and it gets really cold when you use it. Its supposed to be for electronics but I want to make sure before I spray Dry Ice's cousin into the insides of my Xbox.

Compressed air is never a good idea dude. All it does is move debris around inside the case. Duster is used for cleaning opened computer hardware. Duster is a great idea if you have an A+ certification and trust your computer hardware skills better than MS's in-house techs. Worse yet, if you don't know how to use duster (and believe me, most people don't) you run the risk of spraying liquid oxygen into your Xbox. The keyword being liquid.

It did fall once because some IDIOT tripped on it, the **** front, where theres no wires coming out. The game was a demo so i dove and actually it didn't do much damage and the game ran fine...

Horizontally in an open area. I don't clean it often but after reading this thread I think I will.
I've never hit or banged (in any sense) my 360.
I don't lend it to others in my family, that's my worst fear for what it comes to my 360.
When I leave home for days or it thunders I unplug it.

I'm pretty careful with all my stuff in general.

I play it horizontally as since the day I got the Elite (Last Christmas), it only reads discs when it is horizontal, kinda bizarre, but it works.

I place down gently on surfaces and play it through either my CRT or DLP projector on an entire wall of my house.

I have no name for my 360. Though I think I shall make one up now. It shall forever be known as... StupidWhiteBoxThingy.

As for how I treat my 360, I would say not very well. I tend to trip over the wire and knock it over a little too much which is now why it rests horizontally. :twisted:

I thought I was gonna be mocked for giving my 360 a name but apparently it's more common than I thought. I also thought it was curious that only one person called the 360 a he. As for the position: I keep my 360 horizontal because it scratched my FIFA 08 and my Burnout Paradise discs vertically. Besides, my cats used to bump in to the 360 when they were chasing each other around. My revenge? I cut their balls off. Muahahahaha!

erm... I'm pretty sure 95% of the people who "named their xbox" were just kidding...

But I put it in a wide area, clean it, horizontal, and put a little cloth over it when I'm not playing (to prevent dust to get on it). And everybody knows that I'M THE ONLY ONE ALLOWED TO TOUCH IT! Unless I allow them to... :twisted:

I treat my 360 like a the most fragile thing in the world, it sits in it's own little spot unmoved or touched except to put a game in. Somehow It's managed to break itself twice now. Really annoys me.

I knew their not so great reliability record when I first got mine a few years ago so I intentionally have been taking great care of it. Not even switching it to other tv's in my house, or taking it to friends houses etc... it's always sat in one spot, well ventilated, with nothing on top of it or around it. /sigh

I buy it chocolate and flowers and whisper sweetly in it's air vents when it's drifting off to sleep. We go on regular walks with each other, perhaps sharing a picnic and a laugh at the poor state of the PS3 over a glass of chilled white wine... It's a beautiful, beautiful thing we share ....Anabub
