Achievements are good for braging rights you can show them off to your mates to prove the you completed a game on veteran or insane but i dont play games for the gamerscore thats just a bonus lol
Not too much.
The only game that I cared about achievements for was Soul Calibur 4, because by the time I finished all of the stories and played a couple hundred ranked matches, I realised that I had most of the achievements. So I thought 'Well, why not get the rest?'
92k.
And I felt proud of breaking 15k....
But Mostly I'll rent a game for gamerscore if my friend plays it with me(Too Human ) for example, Which he didn't play with me... because he didn't tell me he was going on vacation the week I rented it -.-
But anyway, If I like a game enough I want to get 1000/1000 on it.
[QUOTE="deimos113"]I think gamerscore points should be traded in for MS points, that would be SOOOOOO much more effective. Plus the system is flawed because a person with alot of games generally has a higher score than players with not as many points. Even though the poorer person may be better at gaming than the richer oneToxic8
That is a very good point indeed!
10,000 points = 1 800MS game
10,000 Points = 10 Free avatar items from the shop
etc? :) Later your gamerscore will go down but you still remain with the achievements
Gamerscore to me shows how much of a gamer you are. If you have a highscore gamerscore then you are like a hardcore gamer in my opinion. I have both a Ps3 and 360 but I tend to buy more games for the 360 because a trophy is no big deal to me I'd rather have an achievement. The achievements make you want to do all the objectives and things needed in order to beat the game.
Gamerscore is just a number. FACT.
On that note gamerscore is there just to show off, someone said that the higher the gamerscore the more hardcore gamer they are that's not true, a hardcore gamer won't play avatar, Hannah montana etc.
I believe achievements should show player skill, determination, player satisfaction and be enjoyed.
Gamerscore doesn't dertermine the better player neither does achievements, everyone should play games that they enjoy and be rewarded for how they play.
but i like achievments on all the games. adds a bit of replay value imothey mean nothing to me

They're ok, but I really don't care for them. If I see one that looks easily attainable, I'll go for it, otherwise I don't care. I think more people should care less about their GS, as it's nothing more than just a number that means nothing.. No one thinks you're cool because your GS is 20,000 +, for example.
Play the games for fun, not to boost your GS.
It's ok to have a high GS though, because eventually, if you play a lot of games, it adds up quickly. I've only played 20 games on 360, and my GS almost 11,000, so it's still easy to build up GS without even trying to earn achievements. Just don't play the games solely to earn achievements
Gamerscore means nothing to me, i like getting achievements however.
When i hit certain plateaus in my gamerscore i get a little happy. Say 10000 20000 30000 etc....
I have 23000+ and i am not proud of it. Because it means i have no life.

There are people out there with 200,000+ gamerscore
the system has been out for YEARS now saying you have 20k gamerscore is saying you played 20 games in 5 years which really is not that big of a deal.
I care about achievements because they make me feel good when I get them and it increases replayability on my games.I also like them when I can unlock certain things like with Halo achievements where you unlock certain armors for getting certain achievements. It also feels nice to complete a game.
I'm in the upper 30K gamer score myself for what it matters. I personally only try to get points in games that I really like and if the achievements aren't just collect a bazzilion and two flags scattered across the map(I'm looking at you assassin's creed!) and other boring, time consuming taks.
Not at all my gamerscore is only 2100. I cannot be bothered trying to find ever last collectable in a game. Or with on-line tasks to complete a gamescore.
It is not important to me.
As much as I like to get Achievements in some games, the whole point to the game is having Fun. If it's a game thats not fun, but has easy Achievements, then it's not worth it to waste my time on it. I love games that have fun Gameplay, good Story, good Characters, and have decent Replay Value. Thats what makes the game fun, not Achievements, even though they can be fun (lots of goals for the game).
The whole point to play the game is having fun.
