I ask this question because it's increible the amount of bad reviews I see on the web about the RROD. I purchased mine about a month ago and so far everything is great but I am really worried about the RROD issue, I bought the extended warranty from Best Buy just to be safe but still the RROD makes me very uncomfortable everytime I turn my 360 on, I literally do it with my eyes closed.

Can you guys share your experience?

I've had mine for a year and a month, last christmas, and so far everythings plain sailing except for the absense of my mic for live recently. Also, i have a m8 in school had it since release and no RRoD, and i'm also worried.

Man you worry too much.

I've had mine for a year and a month and yes I did get RROD about a month ago, but I sent my 360 to MS and they repaired it for free and I got it back about a week ago. RROD really isn't a big deal.

Also MS expanded the warranty on the 360 to 3 years so you didn't need to purchase the extended warranty.

Well I bought the warranty because if the RROD ever happens to me I can just go to Best Buy and they will give me a brand new 360, no waits and no reburbished units.

3rd damn xbox in a year. I dont know bout you but I don't pay 500 bucks to have to send it in every 4 months. I have had friends that have their launch consoles and no problems so it all depends lol. I haven't even gotten the RROD just games freezing all the time and the unplayable disc on every game so I phone and say i have the RROD and i get a new one back :) they dont check console just the warranty to make sure its not expired.

I had a launch system that died after 2 years, like 3 days after the day it was made 2 years ago. Well I sent it in and only 2 weeks later I got my new system at no cost, which has been great. Plus now they have the Falcon chips which reduce RROD chances.

My 360 is pre owned, not sure how long the previous owner had it for, but It hasnt got a lot of games on his profile,

but ive had it for about 4 months....nothing as yet.

Being second hand I have been expecting it to happen sooner then later, but we'll see maybe it wont.

Bought mine 3 months or so after the 360 came out. Have had 5 get the RROD. Each time MS has fixed it within 2 weeks or so for free so I'm not too mad, but I have bought a few games on PS3 I would have gotten on the 360 had it been working.

I've had my 360 since it came out and have never gotten the RROD. Knowing that heat is the killer, I keep it away from all my other electronics (heat sources) on a piece of wood on the floor and dust it regularly so it has plenty of cool airflow.

I'm on my 5th 360 since launch day. I bought the extended warranty so no cost to me yet. It is annoying, but I think they may have gotten it right with the new Falcon chipset but we'll see. Word of advice...my longest running 360s were all placed vertically, so try that. No matter what way you place it you'll be blocking a vent or two but vertical allows the console to suck air through the top and out the back. I bought the Intec stand cooler for it and it runs nice and cool now...should be good

I have had mine since Sept. of 2006, so almost a year and 5 months. I have never had a problem with it. I'm not worried because even if something does go wrong, with thewarrantyextension, I'll just get it repaired for free. I can live without the 360 for a couple of weeks if that ever happens.

My 360 is placed vertically on top of my entertainment center so it gets pretty good ventilation. I wouldn't suggest putting it in an enclosed space, as they tend to get pretty hot if you put them on a packed shelf.

Hee hee. To be honest, I'm not worried. If it ever does go RROD, I'll send it in and get it repaired. While I'm waiting, it'll give me a good reason to purchase a PS3. I'm planning on buying one this May anyways, after tax season. You know the drill. I run my own business so taxes are going to hit me pretty hard, lol.

I've had mine since launch and it's still going fine. I've had a few unreadable disk errors and the occasional freeze (less now that it's in an open area than when I had it on a shelf). The failure rate is supposedly at most 16%, which means that at least 83% of the systems are still fine. I find that most people who get RRoD get it multiple times, possibly because they get refurbs as replacements, while most other people never get it at all.

i've had a 360 for about 14 months now... and i have geon through 2... messed up twice although only once with the rrod..

i dont worry about the rrod... cuz honestly i know its gonna come sooner or later.. but its cool cuz i have other systems... i havent played it in a while though... im playing assasins creed now.... and i dont really like ut much.

a 360 without a warranty is worthless imo... cuz its gonna crash sooner or later...
