I got the RROD yesterday.... took the console apart and shes running smoothly now... only thing is my warranty is screwed.marshbaboon
You probably have a better chance of fixing your console as I think MS sends their defective units to a Reebok sweatshop.

my first one came back to my in 6 days. Mines just gone off today, ive had friends say theirs has taken about a week to get back.

I just got mine back. I live in New Hampshire. It took me about a week after I sent it MS.
My problem was getting them to send a box to me that took about 2 weeks.

WTF? You get priority mail both ways or something? It also took them 2 weeks to send out the coffin.

Well my unit was an Elite and supposedly the failure rate is lessened but it survived for 6-7 months. I can only assume it's how you use it or what you play on it. I usually just play FPS which I understand is stressful on the console.
