I bought my 20 gb premium Xbox 360 on 2007 . I got RROD thrice so far . Microsoft exchanged my machine thrice no charge as i was under warranty . So i'm still using my 2007 HDD with last exchanged machine ( from last year ) . Praying it lasts me till new Xbox is out .

1st RROD i got for playing excessive Mass Effect on my Xbox 360 ( non stop ) .

2nd RROD my cuz responsible for 2nd RROD .

Third time i was suddenly getting green tint display so had to replace my console .

What about you ? How many times you got RROD ?

Three. I'm on my second Xbox now. I got my Xbox in 2006 as a birthday present. A year later, I got Halo 3. My first red ring happened while I was in the middle of the first level. After sending it in and getting it fixed, I decided to play some more Halo 3. My second red ring happened at the very beginning of the first level with The Flood. Sent it in, got it fixed (complained to the right people and got PGR3 for free \o/), etc. Four years after that (October 2011), I bought Gears of War 3. I beat the campaign, and was going through a number of levels for a second or third time to find all of the collectibles. On the very last level I had to go through, my Xbox froze. I turned it off and back on to see if it was just a one time thing, and it wasn't. I tried playing a different game and the Xbox froze on the starting cinematic (yes, it couldn't even get passed the Xbox logo at this point), I left it on for a couple seconds and it finally turned the display off and gave me an E79 error screen. I had a date that week and he said he would look at it for me 'cause he recently went through this. Unfortunately, when he finally got a chance to look at it, it gave him a red ring and I told him just not to bother with it. My parents were trying to determine if it would be better just to get a new Xbox or send that one in to get fixed. For Christmas, I got the new Xbox. :3

As they said they got them exchanged from MS (these will be other 360s that have been repaired) so doesnt make a difference to sales figures :D

Even the first post says he sent it in to Microsoft to get repaired, he didn't but a new XBOX.

I've only had it happen once to the first box I bought about 4 years ago; I'm on my 3rd XBOX though.

Had my xbox for 2 years and somehow havent got the RROD yet although i sometimes leave it on all day and sometimes fall asleep with it on at night. I use it to watch fios tv, netflix, and play skyrim for extreme amounts of time. Its actually kind of loud though, is that bad?

It's perfectly normal for the older 360 models to be quite loud.

I'm actually really worried about my Xbox, I use it pretty offten (few hours a day at most though, I watch netflix a lot), it's a 60gb Pro Model I got back in Decemebr of 2008 and it still hasn't RROD'd, I am really worried it's going to red ring, it's out of warranty and ME3 comes out next month.

Really??? I would have though a dog peeing all over your XBOX could only be beneficial...oh well, learn something new every day.

Never had it. *knocks on wood.

I have 2 360's, for almost 3 years now, they still work brilliantly. My RE5 360 is a little loud, but so is my neighbourhood.

Only once, but it didn't break the system. I've only had to send the system in for disc drive issues though.

Twice. First time happened about four months after I had bought my first 360. Got the replacement (refurb) in under a week. That thing was loud, but lasted about three years and died just out of warranty. Replaced it with an Elite that's still going, and later picked up a Slim (for a second 360, although it's become my main one due to how quiet it is).

My consoles have always been well kept, Xbox 360 is the only console in my whole life to ever break on me, its on a shelf with tons of ventilation. Dont start with the look after it crap, the old Xbox core were just made like **** plain and simple.

They have better cooling meaning they are less likely to overheat, the old ones had crappy coolers and used to overheat usually causing the CPU mess up, I used to watch my boss fix them at my old part time job. You used a machine to sorta cook the CPU and it used to reseat it properly.

Yeah , older ones like mine get overheat easily if overused . Great to hear newer models've better cooling , i might invest in a newer model without worries since my running older machine is already out of warranty :)

Yeah the new ones are great, dont make much noise either. My old ones were the Core model, they were pretty poorly made, there was a video of a midnight launch at Best Buy when they first came out and one of the gaurds was warning people not to buy them because half of the stores launch consoles had broke and died, mine was one of those early models that likes to overheat. I think all of my friends are on at least their second to, I know my best friend is on his third I think and his keeps his stuff clean and looked after like I do,

I bought my 20 gig version of xbox in 2009 in march...
It's the older one... once rrod after blackout... simple accident.
My bro have his xbox since 2008 and he had NO rrod's... luck?
Maybe the consoles brought to poland are of better quality? I dunno...

I look after my stuff too... But well... the only problem I sometimes occur is CD doesn't read at all.. and I just... knock tha box a few times and it goes.. :p
Mostly Tekken I dunno why.... maybe something wrong with cd??

Never. Bought my first 360 in Jan of 06. It ran like a champ until I traded it in for a Slim in June 2010. No problems with that one either.

I bought a second 360 for the back room in Feb of 08, and it's ran flawlessly so far. Both systems get played pretty much every day.
