What was the point of this post? I like achievements they add more replay value and it always feels good whenever it says achievement unlocked

It was a reply to what someone else said

It's love/hate for me.

I love the replay they add.

I hate the fact that I find myself rushing at times, or grinding out an achievement. I hate all multiplayer achievements, it ruins the value of old games...you buy them for 20$ only to realize you can't get anymore than 300 GS out of it because the rest are MP achievements for a community that has been dead for a while. I also hate achievements, because I own all 3 systems, so I always miss it when I play Wii/PS3 games. I wish we had an overall gamerscore...PC/PS3/Wii/360 should all work together.

i like achivements i don't think they realy change the gaming but i do try to get them if i know they r easy to get but other than that it is ok. i would change the mulitplayer achivments. it changes the multiplayer a lot. some people say can sombody hellp me get this. or they go for something all the time. ike halo 3, the laser tow for one is hard to get that i gave up on it.

Apparently people like them enough that Sony is copying them...

Personally I was obsessed with them like they somehow proved how badass I was. Now I could care less. Well, they're nice and all, but with a vast wealth of great games, I don't have the need or time to squeeze out every possible dime from the game like achievements try to do.

i really enjoy achievments, and i think they definetely have changed gaming. I know they have for me, I play games differently now to get achievements, and its not a bad thing as it extends the life of my games and makes me realize different aspects of games

I like achievements, they're just a little somthing extra, and it's great to try to accomplish some of them because some things that were put in a game you might not even have realized if it weren't for achievements. I usually don't finish all of them in a game but i get like three quarters complete if the game is good, the only game that I've completed all achievements on is Call of Duty 4.

Achievements are so addicting. They add great replay value. My only con is that I do hate games that require online achievements especially older games bc barely anyone is playing so you can have trouble getting every achievement.

Carbon_Le

Agreed. I wish they didn't have online achievements. Some games I don't really care for playing online.

i like the achivement system, its one of the many factors that makes the 360 unique. Ill go fairly far to get some achivements, its always nice to have a nice big 1000g on your games list. If there was something id change, it would be to make a new category in the games achivements for 'Uber Hard Achivements', ie, Completing MHC Veteran in under 30 seconds, Halo 3 Legendary non-stop run with under 5 deaths, something that would divide the average gamer from the best of the best :)

I think they're a nice addition! Although, they are pretty much just for bragging rights haha. I think it's nice for the people who like to go the extra mile and get everything they can from the game. But it's also nice that they aren't really "needed" for those who like to just play the game for what it is. I find on-line multiplayer achievements can somewhat be a pain, but satisfying when completed.
