How the hell do people on my friend's list have Gears of War 2 already?!

At first, I thought I wasn't looking at it correctly, but it said they've been playing Gears of War 2 for at least a week. How the hell is this possible? It doesn't come out until November 7th. It really pisses me off. This is his Gamertag:

pirating only takes money from the company, therefore they have less money to make more games. Same goes for any buisness that you steal from.

pirating only takes money from the company, therefore they have less money to make more games. Same goes for any buisness that you steal from.

Pirating means the developers make less money which leads to two things. First, the developers make fewer games, and second, game prices increase to cover costs.

Look i know that pirating is wrong but understand that is kind of reasonable becuase ppl in the USA just pay 70 dollars for a brand new game while at argentina you are paying 90 dollars for a game but as we use Pesos (the argentinian coin) we are actually paying 300 pesos a game, imagine yourself paying 300 dollars a game would you ever buy one??. In my opinion thats way tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much money for a game and for ur info i payed my 360 over 810 dollars and that would be 2600 pesos, now imagine paying 2600 dollars a xbox 360, doesnt sound good right??. So although pirating is wrong is the only way for some of us.jacim91

Money has different values. If I went to mexico and bought a game for 300 pesos, i wouldnt hand them 300 american dollars..same for other countries and currencies.

And to add to that "how does pirating hurt us", if everyone stole a game, no one makes money, people lose jobs (eventually) AND developers wont get the set amount of cash they need to go on to bigger better projects. You may not think its a big deal now, but think of what happened to the music buisness, 10 years ago you could make a good living as a musician and now that everyone steals music, its very hard to live off a musician salary (unless your a rapper who gets money from endorsements or other products)

When anything is released (movies, games, music) there is obviously an MSRP attached to it, let's say it's $60 for Gears. How much of that do you think Epic sees? Here is a breakdown. Games have to sell a certain number to actually make money, obviously Gears will clean up and make Epic money...But with a game getting leaked, they could be more resistant to making the 3rd for the 360 or could do other crazy DRM-type stuff.

Best logic ever. What do you earn at work? 40 Pesos per hour perhaps? Imagine getting 40 Dollars per hour! Wow, I'm moving to Argentina! Your 300 Pesos just aren't worth 300 Dollars. I can't believe that you seriously compared them like that.

this guy is obviously someone who either pirated the game or he was someone who worked at the cd packaging plat where the disc was made, now someone who payed for that disc isnt going to get the game. that just aint right for someone who reserved a copy and is patiantly waiting for the releas and hint TOO BAD! Just dont buy games if they are that expensive. STEALING IS ALWAYS WRONG!

you still make no since, trying to compare 2 different currencies that have 2 completely different values.... a job in the U.S. that pays 5 dollars an hour, in your country would pay 15 pesos an hour (to be the equal) same work different pay because the U.S. dollar is apparently worth 3 times what a peso is worth...(surprising, seeing the U.S. dollar is at an all time low in what it is worth)

so with all that said, if you would rather pay 60 U.S. dollars a game, do this:

go get your currency exchanged for U.S. dollars and buy from an American game dealer. sure, you will still be paying 300 pesos in the end, but this apparently seems cheaper to you, instead of giving some far out reason to pirate that makes no since whatsoever.
