Three. And I hear in order to put RROD to a permanent end Microsoft would have to redesign the 360 and that would take millions. But thats just what I've heard, I don't personally know how it all really works.
I've had 4 RROD & 1 faulty disc drive. They told me after I sent in for drive than it would be upgraded with new parts, that was over a year ago & I've not had a single problem since.

im on my 3rd xbox at the moment, and the one theyve just sent me is a zephyr chip so i dont feel comfortable playing it :(

They told me that all repaired consoles would be upgraded with new hardware, they did so with mine & I haven't had any troubles since. However, I did throw one hell of a fit to them as well. When I call I automatically get the Supervisor on the line from the start as thats the only way your going to be able to quickly & correctly get anything out of them. This last time I sent my console in, 5th time, they sent me a newly manufactured console with newer parts as well as 7 months of Xbox Live.
I had 2 RROD. Had a launch console that lasted about 2 and a half years for me so it was still in warranty. When they sent it back, lasted about 6 months before it RROD'ed on me. I had a friend do some magic and now it's working and another friend uses it. I went out and picked up an Elite and it's working just fine
Twice, and I have received the E74 error once. I finally purchased a new 360 in December of last year, and it has yet to give me any problems. [QUOTE="vashkey"]Three. That sounds a bit strange, considering the fact that most significant hardware flaw that fated the RRoD's existence pertains to the size of the 360 in relation to its heat sink design.

what exactly did u say? ill have to rip them a new one next time it breaks and id like some tips :p i need to get online so i can use my 2 free months :D
