How to hook up a xbox 360 to a wireless network without paying $100

Well I did some research and I have found out how hook up a 360 to a wireless internet.

Ok what you will need is:

1: ethernet Crossover cable( $10 at radioshack but without a crossover a ethernet is useless)

2. a computer that takes internet through wifi or usb connection

3. and of course the 360

So now you heed to hook them toghether using a crossover cables

So then you need to get on network connections on computer and right click on your active connection.

right click and then go to properties.

Then go to sharing and check the first box that states to allow other computers, then check the second box that lets you access

the computer

You don't need a crossover cable. A normal ethernet cable works just fine. I have done it numerous times with my ethernet cable. All you have to do is bridge the connection between the wireless card and your LAN card.nickdastick

yea i did all that stuff, but when i select to share my internet stops working and so i cant go on live, any suggestions?toxicuno

Windows uses 192.168.0.1 as its IP address to enable connection sharing; which your router might use too. So It will try and use that IP Address, thus, knocking out the connection. Change your Router's IP address to something like, 192.168.1.1 so there's no conflict.

Buy a DD-WRT/Tomato-capable wireless router ($20-80, depending on the router and deal you get - mine was $25), install one of the two open-source firmwares on it, and convert it into a wireless bridge. It takes a bit more technical know-how, but you get great performance and can hook 3-4 other wired devices into the bridge (read: PS3 and HTPC!)Makari
