You must have been dropped one too many times to be typing like that.
Seriously, though. The new avatars are clearly not geared toward the Hardcore gamers that make up quite a large percentage of the online community on Xbox 360. But the fact that you're getting wriled up about it is ridiculous. Microsoft knows there's alot of hardcore gamers on LIVE, and they are NOT going to leave us out of it. They'll offer plenty of clothing and body options that will allow you to make your character not look like some cute doll, and they'll most likely offer a complete alternative where you can just keep your gamer picture, or something entirely different.
Microsoft knows you're out there, and they will not forget you.
Only if Nintendo remembered that... Damn all i want is game from that console....
You guys must remember that Avatars isn't going to completely change the games the 360 gets. We are still getting Gears and others like it. They are just trying to open up their market to a larger audience (which i don't mind because now i can get more headshots on more people). I mean you can complain that there will be a ton of little 5 year olds playing online with you, but that complaint doesn't work because we ALREADY have them.
I don't really mind Avatars. I mean i won't be on it for more than 15 minutes, but it won't be bad. Avatars (in one shape or form) have been around for a long time (way before the Miis). Think About Halo 3's customization. You are able to change your character which technically can be seen as an Avatar.
For one defenition of an Avatar : An avatar (abbreviations include av ,and avi and "avvie") is a computer user's representation of himself or herself, whether in the form of a three-dimensional model used in computer games,[1] a two-dimensional icon (picture) used on Internet forums and other communities,[2][3] or a text construct found on early systems such as MUDs. It is an "object" representing the embodiment of the user. The term "avatar" can also refer to the personality connected with the screen name, or handle, of an Internet user.[4]
I mean Avatars are in a lot of things. Selecting your character in Gears, Your character in Mass Effect, or your Spartan in Halo 3. I think that we should give these Avatars a chance because they could be used in really cool ways and could be a lot better than people may think.
