You can say this about any game. For people who don't give a s*** about MP like me and don't have time because of work usually depend on solid titles like this one. Like it was mentioned somewhere above, i'm one of the people that explores every corner, reads every note and looks for easter eggs. So with that being said "60 hours" is worth the $60 and not just some 2-3 day rental so i can blow through it and let people know how fast i beat it.gokuofheavenholy **** thats not my point. the only reason i played 8 hours straight (twice), was cuz the game kept me intrigued all the way through. im just poor and want to get more games that all. dont get me wrong.... by the way doing that is not good for ur health. my muscles started twiching and extrating... then i hit the bed :|
By the end of the game, were you still bother to go through the hacking procedure with camera and robots and such? Did you even like it anymore? Did you like to begin with?pyrobrandthe hacking is gets annoying after 50 times. but it saves lifes and it helps you out alot. tho u can always buy an automatic hacking tool. or u can build one.

[QUOTE="jamejame"]Wow, you beat a 20 hour game before it came out. Did you like beat it at the speed of light or something? :P Oh, and just curious, did you take off work at all to beat it?TM1
I don't know if you've been following news but some people got it early because some Toys R Us's broke the street date. A lot of people were able to get it.
LOL - I love how some people are so ready to flame before getting their facts straight. :) Maybe he should be keeping up with the news better before he starts ripping people apart.
That being said - while I know this is off topic...
Did you all know that a couple of German Scientists claim to have just broken the Speed of Light? They allegedly found a loophole in Einsteins theory. Though others are skeptical...

If all these huge gaming sites and magazines are giving it such huge scores and saying it is an instant classic why are you giving it a bad review and telling everyone to rent it. I'm explecting this to be an unforgetable experiance that I will want to have over and over and still have it to beat years later. Why would I rent such a great game as this? And I am glad they didn't spend time to tack on a crappy multiplayer (I.E. The Darkness) as it would have distracted them from the single player. Caveman626He gave it a good review. And said you should rent, because it's not that long.
Easy to comprehend unless you are a Bioshock fanboy.
Metamorph1c by the way u can just click my gamespot profile, scroll down, click onbioshock icon and it will bring u there.[QUOTE="MaDNuGgU"][QUOTE="immortality20"]whats your gamertag? wouldnt mind looking at the achievements you got.immortality20
I just don't understand how you got to play it already :( not fair!
Actually with since you said it was around 15-18 hours long, I feel more compelled to buy it more then ever. Im going to bring up how Resident Evil 4 was around that length too and to me it was an amazing singleplayer experience that had no multiplayer what so ever but it's singleplayer was so good anyway that ittotally makes up for the purchase. Half Life 2 another game that had no multiplayer offering (At launch) was to me, an really well done and exceptional shooter that more then justified my purchase for that game.
If I wanted to satisfy myself with multiplayer then games like Halo is always an option but if I wanted an great singleplayer experience then Bioshock is a no brainer.
[QUOTE="killercuts3"]"Now what?" is the question that nobody thought of because the hype overshadowed anything concerning the replayablility ofthe game. It was always a rent. Unless they come out with downloadable content which puts some more to the story, or some new weapons, or powers, or even a multiplayer then this game should be bought, but so far it's just a rent. julianwelton
Ok, its a SP game think about how many people buy a movie and the story only lasts two hours now a game that lasts about 14-20 hours is an even better investment because when you play it you are part of the story and you can play it as many times as you want.
Where can I find a $60 movie?

[QUOTE="ArsenicA"]idk... :| try to get all achivements i guess... dont throw out $60 on this :D just rent it. thats what im trying to say. all this hype can kill. would have been a better game if it had multiplayer online.[QUOTE="MaDNuGgU"][QUOTE="ArsenicA"]so u beat it already... now wut? :roll:nyc05
exactly... i learned my lesson with the darkness.. i spended 60 bucks on that game... i beat the campaign... n now wut?... yeah it has a MP... but it sucks...no one plays that game online...(i got it for the ps3 i dont know if ppl plays that game on xbox live)
Yeah, as great as The Darkness is, it's just a little too short. I love the game, but the multiplayer pretty much sucked. At least BioShock seems much longer then The Darkness, but even still, once you beat it, it's pretty much over. To be honest though, I will still pick it up....I can't resist.:P
I agree with you bro.wait I dont get it, how can you beat it if its not even out yet >.> just a random question...Ligh_warriorDude check your things before you post like this.Look at his Signature. He has played it.And Toys R Us released it early.Though they did get in trouble so not many people will be able to get it now.He is a lucky one.But he deffinatly has the game.

I have bought $60 adult movies before. lol
Finally someone who sees that this game just won't last... I'm sure it was great before you had beat itModernTimes
I totally agree. This is why I won't buy it even though it is a fun game (the demo at least). If it even had just some deathmatch and teamdeathmatch it would be a no brainer buy.
Of course it wont last. Its a single player FPS. It will last a week at the most.
Im still getting it. Money is no problem for me and I had a lot of fun just with the demo.
I doubt I will be playing Halo 3 for more than one week also. I dont like multiplayer n xbox live. Too many kids talking trash.
I don't get it, if he gave this game all those great scores, how can you say it's a rental? Does that mean every high scoring game for him is just a rental? What's his criteria for a keeper? And not everyone will sit in front of a tv for so many hours since most of us have lives outside of gaming.feryl06
I guess every game that doesnt have multiplayer is a rent for him.

Im about halfway through the game myself (just got to the fort after Arcadia - no thats not a spoiler dont worry) and i have to say its easily one of the single greatest games ive yet to play. Im also around 13 hours in already, so this game will easily be lasting me ~25 or so. You must have just sped through the game and done nothing else. I am finding all the tape decks etc (which all tell very cool stories btw and have tons of backstory to the city) and enjoying myself greatly.
In MY opinion - Buy it.
Its a game you will spend a good amount of time on one playthough, be able to play through it more then once - and FAR more importantly youll be encouraging developers and publishers to take chances like irrational did here.

That's the thing. Those have a ton of replay value.
I will go right out and cancle my reservation because it doesn't include Multi-player...
You need a month in Sierra Leonean.
Its cool that you beat an amazing game on normal difficulty!
There are a lot of gamers who play a game once on normal then after a month they go and play it on hard, renting will remove the choice of playing a amazing game like BioShock twice or three times. Im not saying that your wrong or something its your opinion but Im sure the HardCore gamer and fan of the game would call this one a keeper.
I mean Iv played through the demo about 6 times and I still get that same feeling of soliderity and fear when I play the game and well I love that feeling so Ill probably play this over and over again just like most games I have in my collection of perfection.
yep, you can run through the game like a maniak and spoil the experience, sure. i won't. i'll play a couple of hours a day and enjoy the experience.
i don't like your behaviour, trying to make people less enthousiastic about a game they are looking forwrd too. i think your a pathetic character
Calm down. You're a fanboy if ever I've seen one, attacking someone just because they discourage people from buying a game. Nobody's saying it's a bad game, he's just saying it's a rent because it's short, which I think is reasonable. Not everyone has lots of money, so they might want to give this one a miss and save up for a game that lasts, like Mass Effect. You've embaressed yourself with that "Pathetic character" comment = /yep, you can run through the game like a maniak and spoil the experience, sure. i won't. i'll play a couple of hours a day and enjoy the experience.

I have BioShock also. Check my profile for gamertag.
I haven't beaten it yet, but I reckon I'm close. I'm about 10-12 hours in I'd say. I've pretty much searched through every single room and wasted allot of time hacking pretty much everything in sight also. So, I don't think it's a long game. I mean, it has no multiplayer so it should have had a little longer campaign.
I'm playing on Medium by the way.

no fan boy here. he acting like a toughguy. he couldn't wait to play the game, played it two days straight, rushed it in normal mode, and killed the experience with it. Now he feels like the experenced guy who's trying to keep people from buying one of the better games (at least) this year.: Pathetic character.

No. He is right. If you don't have loads of money you don't want to waste it on BioShock. Like I said, I'm close to the end and I've searched every single room thouroughly and wasted allot of time doing stuff other then I was suppose to. It's a short game for a single player only game.

if you don't have a lot of money it's wise to rent only. but a single player does not have to be played only once. i played the demo four times, and four times differently.
but i just don't like the way this is brought to people. Bioshock "a waste of money". that's not up to YOU to decide for other people.

thats sad dude that you beat a game in 2 days. you have nolife
Considering that I bought Gears of War mainly for the single player experience and enjoyed it a lot, I think it will be safe to buy this little gem.
I hate online shooters for the most part.
But i can understand that a multi player would make it more interesting to buy for someone with little money.
