I have been saving money from my birthday and recent graduation and I was originally planning on saving for a pc. However, I realized something: My computer is not that bad. It's kinda slow and I can't play oblivion:( but I might be able to just go on and get a 360 instead. My main problem: my dad is a deadbeat. Not really the right words, but it will be next to impossible to convince him to let my buy one. (Yes, my dad is that stingy, he controls my money)

I have every single nintendo system but I really want to get the 360 (I admit, it kicks ass). Should I try to get the 360 or just save up for a desktop?

If your just wanting a new pc for games id just get a 360.The graphics are really close to what a pc can do with maybe a couple of exceptions.Plus theres way more good games on the 360 at this point.It all comes down to what u want though and i believe almost everyone on this board will say 360 so u gotta go with your gut on this one.Just ask yourself which one do u need more and go with that.

Exactly what that^ guy said. 360's have dropped in price too so you should be pleasantly surprised. I'm also sure I read around here of yet another upcoming price drop but it may just be a rumour for now.

Plus, there's plenty of options to upgrade a PC and extend it's usefulness such as new CPU, GPU, RAM etc depeding on how you use it. Remember, buying a full system is more expensive than building it yourself. If you do find a cheap system, you could build something a lot better for the same amount it costs.

i love the 360 fanboys here saying pc crap.

i play both i would say get pc if u can wait for the 360 games to come for pc or get 360.

If money is an issue then 360 is the way to go, but pc is the better option providing the games you like the look of on 360 are on pc (or heading that way). I did plan on going back to a decent gaming rig this gen but then we had another baby lol :? and both cost lots.

You just graduated high school I assume since your dad is trying to help you budget your money. If you're going to college in the fall, I would suggest maybe upgrading your PC. If you're going to live on campus, there's a great chance that you'll meet friends that already have a 360.

maybe hes still 17? i cant do anything with my savings account until im 18. or so my dad says...

The quailty of an Xbox 360/Playstation 3 gaming experience largely depends on the quality of your TV set up. If you have a crappy TV with no S-Video or Component video inputs, well it may be fine for old school Nintendo but not this seventh generation. So if money is tight and your TV is crap upgrade your PC. If money is tight and your TV is good, go with a Playstation 3, the failure rate of Xbox 360's is still through the roof. I'm on my third 360 (my second Falcon) and I am still having problems.

Building your own PC would be the way I'd go. But from a financial standpoint I'd say get the 360 instead. It'll be cheaper in the long run as PC need to be upgraded every couple of years now and days. If you can find a good deal on a motherboard/precessor/video card your should definately get it. Oh, and newegg.com is as a good a place to start PC shoping as any.

do you have a job.... if you are working for your money then it should be YOUR money to do with it as you wish. i would say get a 360 since you spend that money up front and have it for a few years but with a pc you are constantly upgrading it.
