I don't understand why everyone says gears of war has the best graphics on the 360. The details are great and all but it seems like the game is almost entirely in black and white, there is hardly any color. I would much rather have a little less detail with more vibrant colors(rainbow 6 vegas) then a black and white game with a lot of detail

The colors are supposed to match the grim setting, just like the vibrant colors in Viva Pinata are supposed to complement each other. The graphics are sharp, which is what I'm guessing most people are referring to. I like the graphics myself, but don't really focus my attention to the graphics -- I like the gameplay in the single player portion of the game. Also, the graphics are almost realistic, to reflect the war setting, like the Call of Duty series.

I noticed the color pallete is very washed out for Gears on SDTVs. Get an HDTV if you don't have one and see if that does it for you.
