Is this story even true because i had to change my xbox once and i kept the hard drive and just changed the consale at gamestation but when i got home it took age's to sort out all my saved games and stuff because the save's are consale restricted....so if you did do what you said you did you would both have to sort out your saves so he must know because nothing would work on his consale and even you would have to sort everything out on your new robbed consale...

Oh that's just a new cooling system chip that was designed for later model consoles after so many cases of RRoD coming in. It's supposedly much more efficient than say a launch model console, and nearly prevents almost all power failures.

You really should return it to him. Even if you hate him, it's still wrong and he paid a lot of money for it. I bet you would also be pissed if someone did the same thing to you, and even if you didn't notice it was swapped, you would still be pissed that it broke.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding something, but why would he need to recover his gamertag? I mean, his 'friend' gets the broken xbox, but he keeps his own hard drive. His gamertag is already on that hard drive isn't it? That would mean that there's nothing that needs to be recovered.

FYI he already gave it back. Why don't people ever read the comments (most of them anyway). :x
