I need help with xbox live, I never had it before.

Ok, do I need a computer to hook it into or is there another way, I have internet, but my computer is in my living room and no internet cables will reach my system, so what can I do? ......THANKS!

1. You do not need a computer in order to connect a console to your Internet connection.

2. You have two choice - wired and wireless.

2.1 Wireless - If your console has a wireless capabilities AND you have a wireless router (or steal a connection from your neighbours:D). If you meet those two criterias then you need to set up your wireless router and connections and then configure your console to "accept" that connection. This is in a nutshell but it is a bit more complicated in detail

2.2 Wired - all you need is a cable that runs from your modem (the one that your ISP gave you or such) to your console. You might want to have several things plugged in to the Internet like PC and the console, so investing in a router (preferably wireless router) would be a great idea. Then, you have to make sure your console is properly set up with the wired Internet connection.

Also, try to avoid giving Microsoft your credit card number. You can purchase XBOX Live cards on Amazon for a nice discount vs. buying directly from Microsoft. Use those prepaid cards.

As long as you're responsible, using a credit card with your account is not a problem. It's not scary. You won't get ripped off by MS.
