Im a decent sniper, but due to delay and alot of circumstances that affect accuracy, in a heated situation i hobble around and miss my target(i refuse to active down with sniper, i dont believe that will improve my skill), and i also have a hard time hitting running people (when im not host). Excuses aside, i just want to be a formidable sniper, and after playing tons of execution all snipes matches, i dont feel im catching on to the whole system as tight as i should.

Anyway, can anyone point me in the right direction with Tips, Videos, or even playing with me Via xlink, live, or xbox connect. Thanks.

if there moving fire a little more ahead from where are your enemies or shot the body put it on their knees (have a active reload to get a damage boost though) :D... also play in the single-player the map last stand in insane that help me out a lil' bit with the accuracy of my sniper...

From a distance it helps to aim as close to the target as possible (make sure you lead the shot at this point) BEFORE you zoom in. The reticle moves much faster that way and you don't have the tunnel vision for an extended time. Closer range, no-scoping is not a bad way to go because if you zoom, it doesn't take much for the target to outmaneuver you and blindside your a$$.

you need to lead your target before you shoot them to compensate for the bullet lag.

i cant really tell you exactly how much to lead because its kind of by the persons judgement you know? and it depends on the situation but once you get better at your judgement for leading you wont have a problem. just keep practicing leading your targets because thats the only way your goign to get better at judging.

Do not be the host. First of all its so damn easy to get a headshot as host. Second of all you cant lead when your host.

The most important thing is, if you are going to play Ranked Matches and want to learn how to snipe good or do anything, Surround yourself with the best possible teammates, that you can find and always try and play ranked with players that you know, also play with players that are unselfish as well, like if you are going to play with players, that make a big deal out of, you stole my kill or that was my down or kill, that kind of selfishness ruins a team

yes the shotty is way ver powered as host plus it had a greater accuracy at a distance. and for some reason host shotty can pop heads like its nothing. when im hosting a about half of my kills with the shotty are headshots. anyway you should practice off host. you probably arent going to host eveytime and some might happen where you cant be host and then your going to suck off hsot really bad because your so used ot off host. so i think you might aswell get used to off host and get good at leading your targets. its really the only way your going to get better..you cant really get better when your host.

 sniping is really easy

If you want to learn how to get far shots, try get headshots as they finish animations, curbstomp, chainsaw, picking up weapons.

If the person gets up close, try shoot at them and then melee(really important)

If you get more confident, active reload(you should be doing this without thinking), and aim, BUT NOT A FULL ZOOM IN, and shoot them, you should take them down.

but in all honesty, ths is maybe the easiest game ever to snipe in, within 2 weeks 60%+ of all ur shots should connect at least if not down the person

it also depends on the lag/latency of your connection wih the host and other players if your connection good you dont need as much lead but if your connection not the best use more lead

easiest game to snipe in? lol have you heard of halo 2? Anyway, thanks for the tips, and yeah my main reason for sniping is for support, ya know to back up my shot gunners, or to isolate players trying to rush for powerful weapons ( hammer, torque, boom, tags ) Im just looking to be able to stop and pop 1 shot, and then move on. I play clan matches where winning matters, not points and kills like ranked :(.

Also, does anyone have tips for evading a sniper who consistantly tries to active reload you? I cannot tell you how much i run into this, and i can only dodge for so long before i get tired of doing it for a minutes at a time untill they run out of ammo.

I used to suck at sniping but then I learned not to be afraid to shoot, if someone is running down a path, take a shot. If you aren't sure its gonna hit him, shoot, you might get lucky. If you miss get the active and then try again. That's what helped me, I don't know if it will help you.

If u get close to sniper whos active reloading

try run/dive and shotgun,
chainsaw(pretty difficult to get the timing right to counterattack), but would have to be close,
melee with pistol

Basically just dont try aiming at them, because if your still for 1 second your gonna be shot
