Ok heres my problem. My xbox is broken. Every time i try to turn it on i get 4 red lights. Ive done everything to try to fix it but it wont work. SoIcalled microsoft to try to get a repair but they told me that my console is out of warranty so I have to pay for it to be repaired. Then I said that the warranty has been extended for 3 years but they said that it is only extended for consoles that have 3 red lights not 4. So basically i need to find a way to make my console get 3 red lights to get a free repair. IfI cant ill just call again and sayI have 3 red lights even thoughI don't but it would be better ifI could actually make it have 3 red lights.. Please help me

Put it on some carpet while it's running and leave it on all the time. Put some stuff on it to block the vents too.

Get a Sharpie and darken in the top right section of the ring. Bam! Instant 3 rings!

Dude,

4 Red Lights = AV cable not securely in the back of the console. Try taking it out then re-inserting it.

Thats what i thought. Believe me if it was as easy as that it would be fixed already. I even tried putting my friends cables and power unit into my console and still nothing changed. I just get a blank screen with 4 red lights. Its the worst time for this to happen. Ihave COD 4, Assasins Creed and soon Mass Effect to play :(

3 Red Rings = overheating. Put your 360 inside of a towel/blanket and leave it on. I've also heard of this working with tin foil (kinda' like a baked potato... only an xbox. maybe? haha) No guarentees though. Sorry mate.

4 Red Rings = display not functioning. If you indeed have 4 Red Rings and not 3, you will have to pony up to fix it. And with the list of games you read off, you have spent $200+ in the last 2 weeks alone, so I'm sure you have enough money to get this fixed. I know it sucks, but your console is out of warranty. Good luck.

according to what i was toldby MS supportall you have to do is plug it into a power strip or surge protector and the 3 red lights will eventually come on for you some day. that's the explanation as to why my console broke that i got from MS Support.

SURE WAY TO FIX YOUR PROBLEM:

STEP1: Go to the bank and get CASH to buy a new 360.

STEP2: Take your cash to a Walmart you rarely visit.

STEP3: Buy a new 360.

STEP4: Take the new 360 out and replace with your broken 360.

STEP5: Go back to same Walmart and act very sad andtell them this"My girlfriend made me bring this back, we are saving up for a cruise."

STEP6: Get your cash back, put it back in the bank, and don't go to that Walmart for a few months.

STEP7: Bingo your problem is fixed.

Did this several years ago when my regular xbox stopped working.
