If xbox live were free, and if the rrod wouln't have never existed...

...the xbox would be perfect. I just send mine to microsoft because of, you guessed, that beautiful ,big, bright red ring. Anyways after I get it back it last for two months more or less I understand, is this true? Or is there anyone here that after sending it to microsoft, worked great? I hate microsoft for making us pay for xbox live when that should be free, ok, we pay the games, themes all that, but the online play too? NO FAIR

XBL subscription is like dating site subscription, you need to pay to make sure you are serious. You don't want random losers hacking and cheating and just create new accounts and screwing everyone's fun. When they ban those cheaters, you know they are not coming back for awhile because that would be wasting money for creating a new Gold account. Also the XBL service is the best IMO :) About the red ring, are you sure it is three ring? Some of them are just rings of "loose video connection" or "loose power" or "oopse HDD is not detected" or some other stuff. And remember to put the power brick and xbox NOT ON carpet. That's pretty much for me. My launch X360 hasn't failed me yet, hope it keeps that way.magicalclick

Yeah... if you didn't pay you wouldn't get all the lag-free gaming on dedicated servers like we do now! And you'd probably have to see a bunch of advertisements every time you turned your console on.

i dont get whats wrong with payin for live

- its only 50 bucks a year

- its good because your hackers and modders that like to cheat for the hell of hit dont get to create an account every time they get banned

- and i am sure some of that cash goes toward making xbox live better

but paying for live is stupid.....

if you guys believe it helps for a better comunity think again.... a good anti cheat system like steams vac can also ban cheaters/hackers for free.

come on you can't even use voice chat when you have silver ??? I can use voice chat on msn for freemy voice chat isn't hosted on your server so this is really a steaming pile of poo.

plus the voice comunication sucks the sound is realy bad. ( when I play with my friend through live I rather pick up my pc headset and skype him because the party chat is so inferiour quality )

Live should be free, imo. I played playstation network and it works just fine. It's very reliable for me. But that's the only complaint I have against Xbox.bobdood99

I have both systems and the only thing that's better about live is it has party chat (which I never used). Other than that I have not had a single problem with psn.

No.. people connect to XBL all the time with modded consoles and also play pirated games etc. There are ways to avoid being banned. You are probably one of the people that believes all the crap Microsoft says like that 360 hardware failures don't exist anymore either. Like I pay for XBL and it's not much so I don't care but seriously.. it's a complete waste of money and it's stupid they still make you pay for **** like themes and avatar clothing, the dashboard still gets plastered with adds and most their games don't use dedicated servers.

You act like a million is a lot.. yes they fix one exploit but there are people constantly looking for exploits in new patches and ways around what they dis to fix the old problem.. If I looked up and posted info like that I would just get modded. Like I said people still do it and if you don't believe me I don't care. MS also has teams that work on security yet accounts still get stolen. But whatever I'm not arguing with you because you will just believe MS no matter what.
