I won't bother reading the review cuz it was wrote by a girl, don't get me wrong, they usually dislike all the gory games...club-sandwich
Nice generalization there.

[QUOTE="jacksheets"][QUOTE="Staryoshi87"]Bah, Jack! I disagree with your Crackdown comment. I play that game nearly every day... I love it... but c'est la vie. I agree that the darkness isn't worth more than a rent, though.Staryoshi87
The logic doesn't work for everyone or every game. I'm just talking about in my case, I understand some people played Crackdown over and over again. It just didn't keep my attention after I beat all the bosses.
s'all good though :)
Hence why I through in c'est la vie... :) Unlike mostforum-goers, Iwon't try to tell you what you should and should not like =P
"Scratches head"..Im offended. Also Im not suprise for a medicore score cause like I said in previous post they really made this title a dissapointment.[QUOTE="Staryoshi87"][QUOTE="jacksheets"][QUOTE="Staryoshi87"]Bah, Jack! If I didn't have to go to Knott's Berry Farm theme park tomorrow I've would've picked this game up right away. I should expect more reviews by Wednesday. As of right now, I think I'm renting this one now. I need to save moolah. We'll see.

So um what ever happen to this deal we agree with?:roll:I don't make deals with strangers. 8)
So, how is The Darkness? Have you tried multiplayer? How is it? Please, let us know? We're dying to hear!

Never have I said I bought the game but however my opinon was based on expectations and observations. If you think this title is worth the go then so be it , its your dollar not mines.Im not gonna waste hard earned 60 bucks on another medicore shooter , I mean come on I been playing fps for many years now so I knowwhen I see a good shooter from a bad one.Im only posting so someone with short dollars can maybe save they money andget something that offers something better then "The Darkness".I give this game 3 weeks and its forgotten about.
[QUOTE="jacksheets"]I think it's perfectly okay to label a 7.8 game as a "must buy". It'd be stupid if every other game was getting high 8's and 9's. I think those scores should be reserved for truly great games.BioShockOwnz
The sad part is that IGN has given higher scores to games that aren't deserving.
Like Prey on the 360/Pc which scored a 9 and is like 6 hrs long in the campain and the Mp is broken- Way to go Ign!!!!.
A good advice ... rent this game. Its a must play, but its finished in about 9-15 hours (depends on how many Sidequests you make)
The multiplayer probably isnt that good. Its Singleplayer is one of the best the 360 has seen so far (if you ask me). Framerate issues aside.
So, rent it ... i gave mine back today ... satisfied with having played through the best storyline there is for 360 right now.
I haven't been to the X360 board in a while, but i posted what i thought of this game in SW. "Yep...I was definately expecting more from this game. It's not a huge disappointment, it has it's moments. I still haven't gotten to the "other" world yet & i still only have 1 of the 4 demon powers, so we'll see what happens. I feel bad for the people that hyped it too much though "
Lately scores just mean nothing at all to me... Shadowrun, Tenchu, and now the Darkness. I think if you know your tastes, and do a bit of research, you don't need anyone to tell you what games you should play. The Darkness looks heavenly to me, and I trust Starbreeze more than I trust IGN. donalbane
spoken by a true gamer right there.
**** reviews... experience the game yourself.

agree.
man these reviews just arnt doing it for me they complain about stupid things this game is a high 8 in my mind and it will be official when i buy it tomorrowGen007youve already given it a score in your mind and you havent even played it yet? thats just stupid. i thought it was going to be amazing and i got it last night and its just mediocre. the controls really piss me off and all you do is shoot. you barely use the darkness and when you try to and shoot out all the lights, you cant even see anything. its really frustrating and i would reccomend renting it before buying it.
It has an average score of 82 right now at metacritic.com, which is very respectable. There are a total of 8 reviews, four of them rating the game 90/100, with Eurogamer (who gave it an 8/10 or 80/100) saying in their review that it was close to a 9. No reason to take IGN as the gospel.
Urmmm Mister Family guy .... you played 10 Minutes? You know that the intro sequenze alone is about 10 Minutes long and you cant really play in that time ....
So *winks* ... did you really play the game? Nanana;)
The intro sequence almost makes it worth the 60 buck from the start, just like Riddicks into. The guys is obviously full of crap cause there is one thing this game is not and that is "boring".Urmmm Mister Family guy .... you played 10 Minutes? Haha, I read the review and thought to myself: "I think I'll go to the 360 forums at GS, I bet that there are at least a few threads about this review already up." And sure enough.... I agree with this review from what I've seen of the game. Also it's another 8-10 hour FPS... yay.Hopefully the Transformers turns out well... I want to pick up one game this week....
Staryoshi87
transformers got 6/10 have fun
I'm really struggling on whether to buy this game or not, like, right after work...but I also wanna wait and see Gamespot's review....damn...should I take my chances and just pick it up? Looks really promising, but I've been burned badly in the past.degobah77
If you've looked at videos and read up on its gameplay features and whatnot, and you thought "that looks pretty damn cool", then buy it. Trust me, you won't regret it. Besides, if it appeals to you and you know your own tastes, why should it matter what one review says?

dude, i've barely used my guns. if you stay in the dark, your tentacles are absolutely lethal in stealth situations.
[QUOTE="allen30009"]i dont think i will like the game it dont look to goodMauser_Loader
Yeah, they use proper english in The Darkness, you'd hate it...
Thanks for taking that one.
The only thing that would make me want to buy a shooter that takes 8-10 hours to beat is a remarkable multiplayer, which in this case it sounds like it doesn't have going for it. Too bad, I was looking for a new title to pick up but I think I'll rent it jsut to beat the campaign.jacksheets
dido
I'll probably rent this one.jacksheets
You should definately check it out. I only put in a couple of hours yesterday on the game but there is already a lot more to itthan I expected. Besides the dual fisted FPS action you can also sneak up on people and do execution kills, the demons you can use are crazy, the graphoncs look great, and when you are in the subway there are so many characters to interact with, and secret phone numbers to collect that I guess somehow tie in to the story line because you actually have to go to the payphone and call them. All kinds of crazy stuff in the game. I plan on writing a good detailed review as best as I can as soon as I can.
I played this game a good 5-10 minutes and i didn't like it. I was interested in the whole i'm gonna go around killing people with the tentacles crap. This game is one of those hit or misses to alot of people, but so far all i have heard my friends say bout it after beating the game that it was decent, but i only played 10minutes and i was bored.FamilyGuyFan507
If you played ten minutes then you didnt play itat all. There is no way you even got to the point to where you can use any of your demons in ten minutes let a lone finish the introduction.
