Ok my brother birthday is coming up so I got him Halo 3 ODST cuz he wanted. So ODST comes with the halo 3 MP with all the maps and I havent played Halo 3 cuz the last halo game I played was 2 and I thought it was pretty cool but after(a few years later) I played gears of war I didnt fine Halo 2 that be as good. When I heard Halo 3 was coming out I just said I will pass on it and when ODST came out I started looking at the game to see if I would like it and it looks cool but I wasnt going to jump up and rush to go get it, then my brother was like he wanted Halo 3 and I said ok but I got him ODST to suprise him a lil and I seen some fire fight game play and that looks BADASS:D..... but yea Im going to give halo one more shot I hope I like it cuz I paid $60 but Im not going to play it until my bro birthday(Oct.27)

I personally didn't like Halo 3, but I think ODST is pretty good. Just know that the campain isn't going to change your feelings about it since it's a little worse and shorter than Halo 3. The only way you are going to feel that you didn't get ripped off is if you play the campain on co-op, and play a lot of Firefight. Going for the achievements in Firefight is fun and it gets really intense. If you try to play multiplayer you are most likely going to hate the game and your life because you won't know the maps, and most people playing online are either little children or wannabe "professional" Halo players that think it's cool to play 24/7 and talk smack constantly.

I haven't played ODST yet, but isn't Firefight basically Survival from Left 4 Dead and Horde from Gears of War, just with Halo characters?

I prefer Halo 2, simply because the maps are better.

It's worth it. Halo 3 is good and stuff but gets so boring after a while, co ops fun but it just sucks after a while. ODST is the best Halo released so far. especially firefight, the campagin is pretty damn good too. kind of deved that theres no MC tho, sadening

I never played Left 4 Dead, but as for Horde mode, it is very similar, but harder in my opinion. The waves are much bigger on Halo, and the maps are more well thought out. The enemies seem more aggressive, but basically the same thing. I don't think it's $60 kind of fun, but with the co-op campain that I went through on Legendary with some friends I felt like it was an average buy in relation to the thousand other sub-standard 360 games that are on the market right now.

I really liked the campaign to ODST, It feels pretty eventful and the pace of the game changes when it really needs too.

I would say its worth the price, especially since the entire online matchmaking is on a separate disk.
