A warning about Far Cry though. The controls are horribly messed, they're just plain broke and render the game almost unplayable. I bought Far Cry along time ago but never really played it for more than an hour before I just gave up. Even if you love Far Cry I'd steer clear of it.
Halo 2 is only worth getting for the backstory to Halo 3. The singleplayer is pretty horrible compared with 1 and 3 and the multiplayer is pretty much pointless because you'll already have Halo 3. If I were you I'd just read up on the story online somewhere.
Dirt and PGR4 are worth getting if you like aracdey racers but if you want something with a ton more depth and length I'd go with Forza 2. It's THE quintessential racing game for the 360.
And finally you need to make room on that list for Call Of Duty 4, Mass Effect and Assassins. They're pretty much guranteed AAA games and your going to feel pretty lonely this x-mas when your the only one not playing them and raving abouthow great they are.
Oh anddon't forget to ask for a12 month Xbox Live subscription and maybe some Microsoft points to spend Xbox Live arcade games. Geomatry Warsand Castlevania are essential purchases and there should also be some more good Arcade games out before x-mas.
Oh and have a very merry Christmas! Be good now or you'll be getting a PS3 for x-mas with a copy of Lair.
