Impressions on COD:5 Beta......

My Impressions of the Beta:

Right off the bat, you'll feel right at home as soon as you play your first game; it's really easy to pick up. Then you'll start to notice that this game feels like a poor man's Call of Duty 4 with a WWII skin to it. This happens to be my only major problem with the game.

After playing CoD 4 so much, I was expecting this to sort of refresh my Call of Duty experience, but it hasn't. The perks are, for the most part, exactly like CoD 4s and so are most of the challenges. And because of this, I feel like the game looses much of it's personality.

I was especially thrown back to find out that you could add suppressors and sights to your guns. Sorry, but this just seems odd in a World War II game; leave that kind of stuff to modern warfare.

There's some other minor annoyances, but overall I feel like this is just a less refined CoD 4 in a WWII setting.

i played for 3 hours and i so far have not played bad players the MP seems to take a good bit of skil but its not on hardcore so thats expected but im rating it 8.5/10 so far im buying the game i play all the COD GAMES.TX360

i agree with you...they tried to copy the CoD4 mp formula which does not work with WWII games at all...it plays like garbage...

they tried to copy cod4 mp formula? i guess gears2 is gonna try to copy gears 1 mp formula lol, the cod4 formula worked great, why not stick to it, do not change things that work!

ok its world war II, silencers, red dot sight ripoffs...acog scope ripoffs... that does not suit a WWII CoD game

the beta does not suck it is probably just that you aren't very good at it, because in my opinion its better than cod4:)Assassin_651

If you are expecting another GOTY quality experience then you should be looking somewhere else.

It feels like a crappy version of COD 4. The three maps that they are allowing you to play are gorgeously designed and nice to look at, but they don't play all that well and offer very slow gameplay.

There are supressors and "Black dot sights" and a scope that looks suspiciously like the Acog except it is a black triangle instead of a red one. So take that as you will.

Basicly they took the COD 4 engine and turned it into **** Surprisingly though, a ****ty COD 4 engine is still an ok experience but don't expect much from it unless you are a WW2 fanboy or something :?.

Based on my first experiences i'd give the Beta Version a 7/10. Remember though, this is based on the fact that thre only 3 maps, and you can only go up to level 11 so the full multiplayer experience is probably going to be an 8/10.

Agreed! and i`l add the sound is kinda bad especially the rifles i duno if the Springfield is fireing its that quiet!

Yup, Kiefer Sutherland does the voice in Cod : WaW. I lol'd too.

COD4 is overated IMO. I like how that in COD2 it actually took skill to aim and it felt more realistic, COD4 just tends to have a very "run and gun" feel to it, and its too easy to aim. Then again, thats just my opinion.Stringerboy

silencers, red-dots, and acog scopes just didnt fall out of thin air in modern times you know. Do some research. they had prototypes of each and alot more back during that time so how is it so unimaginable for them to implement them after people liked the add-ons so much in cod4?

The game isn't bad, some stuff are annoying about it such as I think I die a bit too fast in this game compared to Call of Duty 4( Lower health i'm guessin, I 'm not sure. Sounds are really good, just one problem with it is when other people are shooting its not nearly as loud, so I look at the kill cam I see the guy has shotlike 20x when i jus heard 2 shots. Maps aren't nearly as good as Call of Duty 4, my favourite is Castle which is good because you can snipe , close combat and medium range. While the other two is hard to snipe on and the respawns are **** up. I liked modern time better because there are more ways to kill someone,

Dogs in this game can be much more powerful in this game, just because holicopers you could hide from but dogs, they jump windows climb up stairs (not ladders). I like dogs , but a lot of people hate them.

I think this game isn't really a sequel , just something you play when you played TOOOO much of Call of Duty 4 and are bored now. Which is me , so I'm happy that I have another game to play now :). So i'm not gonna hate on the game, even though it could've been better, but thats reall hard because CoD 4 was nearly perfect.

once againe your comparing modern equipment to the first of their line. Im pretty sure the first Fords never ran as good as my 2008 mustang does. they are supposed to be inferior to the modern kind. If you dont like that they wanted it to feel real then dont play it. simple as that but they didnt do anything wrong making them the way they did. And i dont think winning awards was what made them make this game so who cares. its nice to be recognized but im sure they'll survive if they dont get any

so far from what av read it looks to have its up and downs. the sights for guns will ruin it as all thy needed was an iron sighty which would make it more fun. and av not niticed anyone mention tanks/jeeps/ and stuff?????____________________. you just have to remember that the game is made by by difrent people.

I agree 100%. I find COD4 and its JOHN ELWAY grenades to be ridicolous, the maps to be WAY WAY to small, Its far to easy and the fact that it is just to run and gun imo. Very very overrated game cod4 is imo.

They don't use Red Dot Sights in CoD: WaW they use things called aperture sights.

Red Dot Sights are more modern whereas aperture sights are fairly old and would have been used in WWII.

to be honest, it might come off as a little too much like cod4, but I personally don't see that as a bad thing. and you don't have to worry about vehicles. they only appear in certain game modes, so you don't "have" to deal with them

The only hurdle the game has to overcome is that its wwII again, but at least its in the pacific, and so far, this is the only good pacific theater game. so i can dig it

In short, its cod4's gameplay but improved

Honestly, why would that put red dot sights or acog scopes.

They had silencers in world war w, but the only guns that I know of, that could use them were pistols (not revolvers) and the Sten SMG
