Yeah...instead of playing some of the best songs of all time and having fun doing it, go out and buy a guitar for more money than the game and spend several months taking lessons and practicing just to learn how to play just one of the least complicated of those songs.
i do play real guitar and bass have been for the past 3 years or so, and guitar hero has acutally gave me a little more pinky finger dexterity plus playing guitar hero is no different than someone using a finger strengthener//grip exerciser, and it is alot more funÂ

If someone wants to play guitar hero who are we to criticize them? Maybe they don't want to take the time and money to learn to play a real guitar. What if they wanted to have fun RIGHT then? Buying a decent guitar, amp, and effects pedals to actually make it sound like some real songs can cost ALOT of money especially if you don't REALLY truely want to play the guitar in the first place. Not to mention time and practice.
Guitar Hero insipred me to pick up a guitar. And it probably did the same for alot of other people. I still play guitar hero because it's a simple fun rhythm game. No harm in that. Even people who only play guitar hero have the right to just play it. I honestly don't know why people get the urge to put down people who play guitar hero. While no one in this thread appearently did that, I have seen it quite often and it's pretty sad.
I agree,GH is pretty ridicules. I'll take a 22+ fret guitar over a 4 fret plastic guitar anyday. I just hope this game is actually encourages some of you to pick-up a real instrument.

But playing Guitar Hero is loads of fun with friends, but with real guitar you need other people that can play and need to organise getting instruments around and stuff.... hard work. So Guitar Hero is awesome fun, but so is actual guitar if you can get friends that play.

Why the hell call me a loser? My topic is valid as is your sports games point. :roll: It's actually not the same idea. Baseball games don't give you a fake bat to attempt to swing generically. Guitar hero provides people with a fake guitar that plays NOTHING like a real one. Those who try and justify it by saying it feels like playing a real guitar have never played. With your sports games, you don't get fake, poorly made, equipment so you can "go through the motions" so to speak. That isn't a good comparison. I'd have more respect for the game if it gave equipment that replicated the real instrument, but it doesn't. The game could be served as a teaching tool for beginners but if you are over the age of 25 and you have fun playing this game (and it doesn't involve beer)... well I guess that speaks for itself.
wtf screw playing a real isnstrument. yeah im gonna go pick it up and waste 5+ years of my life practicing for somehting i wont be good at any way. oh and to the dumb idiots who think that playing a guitar makes a career, wtf? yeah! "the bands gonna make it! i swear!" stupid
 id rather have fun playing a game than practising at something it takes many years to be decent at. when its not even my intrest to do in the first place

you porbly just suck at guitar hero 2 but can play a real one but vbecause u r so bad u just want to try and make fun of people just cuz there btter then u so u should go cry about it and hey maybe some day u can play guitar hero 2 and not be the worst person ever and im pruod that u can play a real one do u want a cookie cuz no one here really cares if u can or not:D
