No because MS would have to pay sony to use their tech and since it's 2 rivals, sony would never allow that. I presonally liked the HD DVD much better because of the way it ran and it was relatively cheaper to make and sell than blu ray

I'm sure microsoft confirmed it in an interview saying their NOT interested in producing a blu-ray add on. Also Monty Oum is the man! ^ :)

I dont think youll see it on the 360. Even if it were possible with the contracts, etc. with the ps3 dropping to $299, it would put pressure financially on ms to come out with one that is on par with not only the regular blu-ray players out there, but to try and compete a new add-on with a ps3 price drop. They need to address the 54% failure rates of the 360 as opposed to a blu ray player imo.

Nobody has stated the obvious. Xbox won't have blu-ray because they don't need it. They have games and movies ON DEMAND. Digital Downloads are the future, not blu-ray.

If I'm not mistaken, MS has denied this rumor several times. I personally don't think MS will ever include BluRay into the 360 mainly due to Netflix and the fact that BR is property of Sony.

Dude. Screw the Slim. The original just got cut to $299.99, and it's better than the Slim. But really, this conversation shouldn't be had here.

Yeah, but the fatty is cooler and you can upgrade the HD to a 500GB for only $100 more.

Yeah, but it would end up costing the same in the end for the same amount of GBs, and the Fat is so much cooler. And it looks ten times better. And it's huge. And it's shiny.

I think you know it's not true. Blu-ray is so not needed this gen. Look how the 360 games compare to PS3 games and you'll agree with me. Heck most 360 games are playing and looking better on the 360, and they're using Dual-Layer DVD's. Pretty good I'd say. So who needs blu-ray? Not I!

the competition is getting big between microsoft and sony. ps3 now has quite a good advantageout of thesystem. im expecting mocrosoft to do something big which will counter the ps3 slim and blu ray this will probally be a new elite with 160 gig and a new price tag of $300 plus making xbox live free. the new elite should bring the xbox 360 up to the newstandards of the ps3 and the free xbox llive would make the xbox 360 able to match blu ray.

thats wrong, sony have been on record and said they can use it if they wanted, its not just sony by the way who own the right to blue ray its more open than you think.
