I only want to use it for game saves, backwards compatibility, and Xbox Live arcade downloads. There are like 3 or 4 different games I want to download.

Will a 20 GB hard drive hold that much and not be completely full for when new stuff comes that I want?

I was actually wondering the same thing. Although I would also add demos to mine. I figure I can just stream music from my computer.

If you just want to play games, 20 gigs should hold you, what i hate is how the harddrive only has about 10 gigs when you start because of all the pre-loaded videos and stuff, but it should be good.

I use my 120GB for all the things you just mentioned and I haven't even used 1GB. My hard drive still stands at 106GB which is what it comes as due to the size of the interface and the butt load of demos that the system comes with.

i have like 10 demos and that fills my 20 gb up, so you can just delete the demos when downloading more.

Well that's good to hear. I really didn't want to shell out $160 bucks for a 120gb model. That's a little too steep for me. Demos usually don't last long anyway. So I guess I have nothing to worry about. Oh and I assume when you download a game you can redownload it as much as needed correct? This includes the original games as well, I can't wait to play through Pyshonaughts again!

It should be enough, although you may have to delete some stuff to make some more room. The system already takes about 5-6 GBs alone. So you have about 13-14 GB of actual free space. Personally, I dont think it's enough because I find myself having to delete a lot of stuff which defeats the purpose of having storage space. Down the line, I dont think it will be enough.

20 gigs is more than enough for just games. I have about 15 videos, 20 arcade games, 4 demos and about 50 360 games stored on my harddrive and I still have plenty of space left. Videos and demos are the things that take up the most space on the harddrive.

Go with the 120gb. I found myselft in trouble because I was downloading content for games like map packs and extra accesorries that start adding up with the demos and arcade.

You can download them again on the same profile as many times as you want.

Once you start downloading game content the 20GB fills up fast, but for just game saves and arcade titles it will be fine.

i got the halo 20 gb xbox and i found out that it had 360 demos, pictures, videos, XBL arcade games and other stuff loaded on it, i thought it would be blank. AND if it was 20 gb than how come when i check the hard drive memory it says capacity 13.9GB and free space 10.9GB that makes 24.8GB and i thought it was supposed to be 20 gb not 10gb, ok so can someone please explain this IN DETAIL in what is going on?

the only reasons you would want more than 20 gb is if youre downloading tv shows/keeping a lot of demos and dlc.

I have 30 games and my 20GB drive easily holds the 16 live arcade games I own, all the saves for all my games, and every last expansion that's either free or I purchased (and there isn't a lot I haven't...accept in Rock Band)

I have a 20 gig hard drive but even though the capcity is around 13 gigs... yet even though I am just using 1.6 gigs for a couple of saved games, and have no videos/demos/music or anything, it says I only have 5.5 gigs of free space. ; \

Any idea where the missing gigs went?

I have had my Xbox for about 8 months now and I have never had less than 6 gig free on my 20 gig. So it should be enough unless you want to download a ton of videos and demos and not have to delete anything.

Also I just learned this, im sure a lot of you already knew this but i didnt until today. If you want to upgrade to a larger drive you can re-download all your paid for content to the new drive for free. Your Xbox live account keeps track that you already paid for it and does not make you pay again. So that is pretty cool.
