Is Anyone Else Having Second Thoughts About Wanting Gears Of War 2?

Its the one game i'm not having second thoughts about. I know its going to be amazing.

Its Fable 2 and Fallout 3 for me. I also wanted Far Cry 2 but got to play it early and man... Im glad I didnt buy it.

I know what you mean, hopefully isn't like halo2, in which it was kinda of a let down, besides the multiplayer

Well, we havent heard any reviewers say anything negative about the multiplayer portions. So im betting that at least the MP will be a blast.

I did read some reviews pointing out that SP fell short and didnt fully conceptualize the gears 2 jump. But even then its saving grace is that its still gears.

Im still psyched about the game. At worst it'll be surpass Halo 3. Kind of a questionable but still familiar campaign, but makes a bigger jump in multiplayer than halo 3.

There are specific hands-on reviews of single player or multiplayer.

One of the single player reviewers actually said that he didnt like the new additional tank top battles and flyer battles because he loved the original gears gameplay that much and thought new content took away from that.

Doesnt say much about the game's negatives except that new content isnt traditional gears content.

ill just rent it, i hate gears multiplayer so its not worth it for mekyletoker

I think the horde mode and new gametypes might change your mind :)

actually, I don't know for sure... good question I was wondering the same thing

I was ahving 2nd thoughts for awhile, just because i hated the versus mode on Gears 1, but on the other hand i LOVED the coop singleplayer missions.

So ill keep my preorder just for the coop with friends. And hopefully the online is better.

my thoughts exactly. i'm waiting for my friend to get GeoW 2. I'll play it at his house. If it's similar (or worse) than the first, i'll just rent it. If it feels fresh, then i'll go buy it.

I'd like to point out I didn't pirate the game. I have a copy sent from Ubisoft. All SM's at Gamestop got a copy a week early and that is the copy im playing. I do not like stealing from developers who work hard to make a great game. And I know the guys who worked on FC2 worked hard. It's just missing fun gameplay elements. To put it short, its a really boring game with a really crappy story.

Haha no you don't. LBP has been taunting me all week long and now I have to ship it out tomorrow! BAH damn Sony! I could be playing Fable 2 and Little Big Planet. But I guess Fable 2 will do.

CoD 5 is just bad .. from the beta anyway.. but gears 2 is gonna be the "best" online shooter for the 360 besides CoD 4 so no real second thoughts for me.360player_eq12

Idk why you think the CoD WaW beta is bad. I think it's great! I doubt I will get Gears 2 though.

Gears 2 is my most anticipated game this year.

dude, there might be a parallel for the single player campaign. But gears 2 multiplayer looks way too polished and it has like 5 new game modes. Its not going to be like Halo 3 vs Halo 2 just because Horde, Meatflag, and Guardian offers completely new gameplay. The MP addresses so many technical issues with Gears 1 MP that broke the game:immense host advantage, shotgun being overpowered, etc. Its also going to be hard for people to complain about bad maps as in Halo 3, cause they incoporated the best gears 1 maps with all the new gears 2 maps.

I really dont see anyone making the Gears MP > Gears 2 MP. Gears 1 MP was kind of broken and one sided. Gears 2 adds alot.
