I'd say stick with the rental...unless you're really into the J-RPGs where level grinding is a must...because this is one of them sadly. Plus, the story is lack-luster at best.
At first i hated the demo, but they i gave it another chance and when i started advancing, i liked it. There's a learning curve that if you can pass it, you might enjoy it
I like the game... it's not deep, but it's decent. I like the way the levelling up is handled and the shadows are pretty cool. My only beef with the game is the level design. If they did more with that, the game would have been a LOT better. There's more or less no story, but I could have dealt with it if the levels were more interesting. Nonetheless, this game got hosed by the reviewers. 8/10. Not a great game, but if you like old-school JRPGs like Dragon Warrior or the original FF games, it's pretty good.
