is gears of war better than halo?

Since gears of war came before HALO 3, H3 has alot of advatages. But im not all that hyped for Halo 3 for some reason. GEARS OF WAR is physco CRAZY..man if thet're going to come out with gears of war 2. its over....its really over...i aint never gona drink or smoke agian....

IN THAT CASE MY TOUNGE IS UNABLE TO TALK HONESTLY

BUT ANYWAY IN MY OPINION I'D SAY HALO IS BETTER THAN G OF W CUZ HALO WAS THE BOMB OF PERSON SHOT GAMES

 SO THAT'S THE REASON MADE HALO THE BEST.

Gears  is a lot better and exciting than halo 3

i would say that the games are too different to compare really, even thos they are both shooters, there are just too many things that are different.

They are BOTH great games.

yea plus gears is third person and halo graphics will never be good as gears cause halo is way futuristic gears is said to be 20-30 years in the future or sumthin like that

so yea u cant compare them that much only by sales and how much ppl play them

So far right now all halo 3 really needs to improve on is graphics the explosions look real nice but the graphics are just not up to Gears of War yet but heck its a beta and they have till september, so to answer the question yes Halo 3 will be better because it has better online because it has respawning, thats the only part I get sick of in Gears of War is not being able to respawn. Great games the both of them but the story in Halo 3 will be better and in the end make Microsoft alot of money. gimlifn

actually in annex u can spawn and their makin new achievments for annex soon in an update and for hiddent fronts maps so i cant wait for it

I don't think you've ever even played Gears have you? If you had you'd know that Gears is set incredibly far into the future, not just "20-30 years or sumthin like that.", andy person who played campaign would have know that it takes place on planet Sara, not Earth, and if you logically think about how long it would take humans to go to a new planet and build an entirely new civilization there it would be a hell of a lot more than 20-30 years.......moron.

on the original topic, Halo is the better series.  Halo has a more well developed, original and well thought out storyline whereas gears recycles every shooter cliche it can find.  Halo's multiplayer offers variety in gameplay aswell as a solid and fun ranking system, Gears multiplayer is a repetitive glitchfest of mammoth proportions.  Halo's graphics are decent enough to not be a bother to me in any way, Gears has beautiful graphics but would do itself a favor to add more variety to it's locations in order to really show off what it's got.

In conclusion, Halo is the better series due to focusing more on the story and developing gameplay that is relatively free of glitches.  Gears is a fantastically fun game especially in co-up and is a graphical achievement, but if I were to get a christmas present that had -amazing- wrapping, but I opened it up and it was something I got last year, I would be highly dissapointed, as I am in gears.

Gears is good, Halo is great, that's about it.

Although Bioshock is going to be the best game ever, so look out for it instead.

I agree......even thought they are both shooters, the styles of the two are very different. They are both great games and as of now no one can tell how good Halo 3 will be. Personally though I prefer GOW and I think it absolutely kills Halo but like I said it all depends on your gaming style.

Gears is amazing, but Halo is EPIC

I know that there's no way Halo 3 can look as good as Gears, but once I get Seriously on Gears (2,500 kills to go), then I don't think I'll play the game again because I'll be playing Halo 3.
