Is it just me, or is Gears 2 NOT bad online!

Honestly, is it just me being oblivous to cheating and glitches and everything,or is the game not that bad and its just become "Cool" to bash it.

I actually find the Gears 2 online to be quite tactical and entertaining, and I very rarely run into those WTF? UNFAIR! moments...

Gears 2 is straight trash online. The first gears was and still the best game on 360, IMO.

I'm patiently awaiting Gears 3 =(.

At least I have MW2 in the meantime to keep me occupied!

I was playing last night with my bestie... He ranked up from like 9 to 21 in about 5 games, thanks to the triple experience. I'm at 46 trying to get to 50. I'll be playing for the remainder of the week. I still need to end the game on insane, I'm at the last level in the courtyard/Jacinto. If anyone's down to help out, hit me up with a message or an add.

Gears 2 is not as good as Gears 1 online, but I have fun in Horde, Submission, and Wingman - all three modes are incredible.

Lol I hate when people do this. It's clearly not just you, or it wouldn't be in the top 5 most played Xbox Live games after a year of being out. I don't like it, but that doesn't mean there aren't millions who enjoy this every week.Innocentguy757

I like it a lot. Sure there's a bunch of moments where it feels really cheap. But when it's not feeling cheap it's pretty fun

I am assuming that you never played Gears 1. Gears 2 is comeplete garbage, shotgun shots are WAY slower, blindfire is still pretty bad, hit detection is pretty bad. All in all, compared to the 1st one its bad.

Also, how can it be "cool" to bash something? You either like it or you dont so that is clearly a fail argument.

I like it a lot. Sure there's a bunch of moments where it feels really cheap. But when it's not feeling cheap it's pretty fun

this is the truth geras 2 is great. yeah there are some games that have really bad connections and games that have cheaters but when your in a game with a good connection and no BS its fun as hell.

Gears 2 online is fun and all, but I am just sick of host-based connection.

Yeah if you can get a good connection which sometimes is really hard to come by then you're in pretty good shape

I've never had problems with it. Ever. I think that people's heads are still stuck in the past where Gears 2 first came out and it's multiplayer was more or less unplayable (lucky for me, I didn't have Gears 2 at the time). After a few updates, everything was running smoothly and I've also never run into a hacker or any of that sort. So yes, at this point I would agree with you - it's 'cool' to bash Gears 2's matchmaking.

Now that Epic has spent the year since it's release releasing patches, the majority of the issues that plagued it's multiplayer have been resolved. My connection is relatively fast so I never really had trouble finding a game or anything like that. I bought it when it was first released last year though, and I quickly gave up on playing anything other than horde or co-op in it because of all the lag and glitches. After awhile I gave it another try after a few of the updates had been released and it's been my favorite multiplayer since (though Modern Warfare 2 has the potential to take it's place). Nowadays it plays pretty smooth although there are still some problems that make an appearance here and there.

NO this game is a fine example of why dedicated servers are better than listen servers.I honestly have only played a handful of games with no lag, the rest of the time it was terrible lag with the other team cheating and it was a terrible experience. The online was a shotgun fest like the first and the people who play it online seem to act like the people they are playing as and even worsened the experience. GeoW 2 is a very overated game as far as multiplayer goes and EPIC games should be ashamed of the crap they put out (first UTIII then GeoW2)

It's not too bad, but I'm not crazy about it. Fun once in a blue moon.

Now that it's patched it's not actually broken or anything. Not much anyway. But it's still inaccessible and pretty different. Theres a learning curve and alot of gamers aren't willing to admit they don't have the skill to compete. Alot of people play it lose and then give up.vashkey

I've only played Gears 2 online once, it wasn't bad. But it's probably going to be a lot better for a while because everyone else in the world is going to be playing MW2.

It used to be full of all kinds of problems. Now they managed to patch them and speed up multiplayer search times. I have not actually had any problems on Gears 2 since way back when the multiplayer search took like 10min.

I like it but I just plain suck at it. :lol:

At least you can admit that. Most people blame it on lag when they are just not good at the game. Don't get me wrong, there are games that are laggy and melee won't even register but it's not like that every game. It requires much more skill and is more tactical than some other casual online shooters that people think are "tactical".

I only play the Horde mode(WHICH IS GREAT TO ME)I can't say how it is over-all.

I think it's a pretty solid game, it has more hiccups than the regular game should, but it hardly detracts from my enjoyment.

I like playing Gears 2 online. Horde mode is fun, but after beating it once there's not much replay value with it.

It is sometimes unfair, but it is great.

I always liked Gears online, it's just a pain dealing with the matchmaking system. last time I tried to join a match, I gave up after 11 minuites of a red "finding match" screen.
