I was just wondering if it's worth it to spend the extra money on an elite 360. I'd like to know because I'm gonna be picking up a 360 soon and was wondering if thee was a good reason to spend the extra money.

Thanks,

Elmo

If you have HDMI and you expect to be using the extra space on the harddrive, then it is worth it. I would say for the long run, it is good to buy the Elite

I thought so. I paid the extra 100 just to have a black console because the white looks goofy.

I upgraded to an Elite last September well worth it due to the extra hard drive space and Hdmi output because at that time the Elite only offered it. The question you need to ask yourself is do you want to download lots of things ie games, movies, demos. Because thats where the Elite comes into its own for the extra space you get. But if you dont need the extra space get the premium.

If you need the extra space then it's definitely worth the extra 100, but if you just need it for the HDMI the new Premium packs have that now.

I've had a premium for 2 years, never needed the extra HDD space. If money is an issue just get a premium.

It is more Grey than black if anything I bought it to go with my PS3 and thought they would look good together but they look ok. I think it is worth it to get the Elite esp if you dont own a 360 already, i have not played much on mine but they are loud as all hell.

I believe even the new Arcade has HDMI so HDMI isn't a factor. The only difference between the Premium and Elite that matters is the hard drive. If you plan on download a lot of demos and are going to want to keep them for a bit, the bigger hard drive would be good. If you plan on downloading a demo then deleting it quick then the smaller hard drive is fine.

Yeah yeah, the Elite comes with a HDMI cable but you can get those for $5-10 off monoprice.com.

I went from a premium (no hdmi) to an elite (falcon) and haven't looked back. It runs much cooler and quiter than my old one. But the fact is that all of the models now have a hdmi port and the improved hardware so it really depends on what size hard drive you need, once you've decided that you can pick one of those up seperately. Btw if its any help i bought my elite on ebay (nearly new) a couple of weeks back for £185 inc postage (£10) so you might just want to check there and get yourself a good deal on an elite instead of buying a hard drive and hdmi cable seperately.

It's worth it if you know you are going to be downloading and/or putting lots of music/vids on the system, I upgraded the day the Elite came out and have been happy with it ever since, I still have lots of space on the hard drive but thats better then none at all.

If you're getting a 360, and you've got the extra cash, then sure..

Or get the Pro now, and if someday you do need the bigger harddrive, buy it then.

I have a premium and I'm really satisfied with it. I compared the screenshots of the elite and the premium and I didn't see the difference. The 20GB HDD is enough too. I donwload something almost every day, but there's still 2GB free space and I bet you won't keep the demos for eternity. So IMO i think you should go with the premium and spend the remaining $100 on something else (games or a gold account).

Yes. It certainly is a better choice. I used to have the Premium and now I have the Elite. I'm so much happier. Although MS has since reconfigured all the 360s to be built better internally and last longer, the Elite was the first. (So, you're taking less of a chance to get an older, crappy built one... I had 3...) Plus, like others mentioned, HDMI and Hard Drive space are definitely huge plusses.
