My firend went to GAME to trade in Shadowrun. They said that they couldn't give him much for it as the Shadowrun servers were closing soon. Has this actually happened yet or is it going to happen?

Thanks for the help.

The thing is, MS doesn't actually close their servers for games. This is why we pay for XBL. Go to ANY original Xbox game you own and try play online. The servers will still be there but that doesn't mean people will be playing.

Not true. EA eventually persuaded Microsoft to let them control more of the online components in their games. They've even shut down the online functionaility of some titles on Xbox. They're even planning to take Xbox 360 titles off at some point.

That actually makes me feel much better about the $50 a year fee

Then that's just one more thing to pile on top of the list of reasons to hate EA. Anyway, take what I said but just with the exception of EA.

Im going dissregard everything you both said.. The only games Microsoft controlls are games that are made by Microsoft.. The Devloper and publisher controlls the servers... Ubisoft like never takes down servers but game like Timesplitters they do shut down servers.. EA shut down sports tittles after 2 years and there shooters stay up for as long as ppl play them...

While I respect your choice to pay the $50BKS, it's still not worth it for me becuase 95% of my 360 games are played off-line. But for those who want that feature, it's a bonus.:)

yeah its ea who turn they servers off, usually after 2 sequels in the sports games. like i think tiger woods 06 is cut off live but 07 is good till the end of the year. one game that suprises me at being still is quake 3 demo on the pc, u can still get on the demo servers and play online. wud of thought a demo wud of been cut off years ago.
