Alright here is the deal.. Right now my PS3 is having alot of problems with freezing up and it may be overheating. If I cannot fix it I am going to be getting me another system and the 360 is my next choice followed by the Wii. HOWEVER I do not want to get rid of a problem system just to walk into another. Has the hardware problems including the scratching of the games been completely fixed on the 360 yet or not?

Lol yes. And it was never a problem that ALL 360's were defective. A very small number of them were.

For the most part no. Mostly all the problems that the 360 had are now fixed.

Yes and no, not all of the problems were fixed 100% but for the most part the new ones that are coming out are probably gonna the best one out of all the 360s out now just because of what they put into them to fix the problems.

The newer models with have a lower chance of getting the RROD. I had my 360 for over a year and still no problems encountered.

They pretty much cut the defects down to 5% every batch since the 4th mass release. Though there have only been I think 6 mass releases. Though you may still run into problems just by extending your gameplay to extreme amounts of time, but you only have a 1/20 chance of getting a defect

Take a fan and point it at your 360, and give it some ventilation. Don't move the console with the discs inside with the power on. That should prevent any problems. I've been doing that for a year, had the thing for 2, with heavy usage.

And its been running fine.

As long as you have good veltilation space for it you should be fine. Give it some room to breathe and it should work fine for a long time.

not all 360s came defective. I have had mine since May 2006 and it never has scratched or gave me ring of death lights. I think the reason some people had a lot of problems is they ran the 360 in a room that was humid or too hot, and didn't have it fresh air to suck in and cool it. Running electronics in a 3rd world country with no air conditioning isn't going to be good for it.

Microsoft claimed they switched to 65nm chip, and this might make less heat so your good to buy now I would say. Get a instore warranty if you can (this way you can exchange it in the store you bought it at, if you get a lemon, instead of sending it back to m$), and get the elite console with 120gig hd, this will come in handy when the new update is released that allows you to install games on your hard drive.
