See I am staying out of this war until someone proves to be a winner or we move to a universal format, just don't like the idea of watching only some movies on Hi-Def when I own a ton of regular DVDs.
just burn hd wmv files to dvd + play hi-def movies without any extra cost ;)Mirkophil....or... he can go the non-illegal route and download movies from XBL. Anyway, I would say that the $180 would be better spent on the 120GB HDD, but if you already have it, then I suppose an HD-DVD player would be nice to have. I'm not a big movie buff, so moving up to HD-DVD or Blu-Ray isn't really a priority. I am however getting increasingly annoyed at the low resolution of DVDs since I've gotten accustomed with HD cable programming.
it is well worth the money now the likes of paramount and dreamworks have said they are no longer supporting blue ray. No transformers no shrek 3 for them only HD-DVD and dvd only. It looks the dogs nuts sat next to my 360 the best add on for a console i have ever bought
I just picked up the HD add-on last week. Amazon.com has a deal going on this month where you can get 3 free movies at the time of your purchase, and not only that, but you also get 5 free movies by mail-in rebate as well. So I got the player, the pack-in King Kong, 300 and Batman Begins. Than in a couple months I should receive Appolo 13, Blazing Saddles, The Perfect Storm, Constantine and one other(I forgot what I chose from the list). All this for just the price of the player which is $180.
I started watching King Kong the other day and it looks amazing. I've heard Batman and 300 look awesome too in HD so I'm looking forward to popping those in when I have time. So I guess you can say I'm really happy with my purchase. And oh yeah, because Paramount has an exclusive deal with Toshiba for a while, the only way you'll see Transformers in HD is on HD-DVD, and that is the one movie I'm looking forward to the most coming out this holiday season. :)
[QUOTE="XTREMEGAMER5"]Hey, just wandering if its a good product to be buying, im not interested in blu-ray.teebeenz
If you're not interested in BD, then HDDVD isnt going to help you much either.
Why in the world would he be interested in Blu-ray when he can buy an HD-DVD drive for $179? :|
