I've been reading about this clip-on fan thing after reading about overheating problems, and I've noticed that my 360 can pretty hot after a few hours playing. Would people recommend this product?

It does what it says it does. Pushes out more air and makes more noise.

It does NOT;

  • Burn MP3 backups to your Intel-Based server
  • Wash your car
  • Clean your pool
  • Kill your pesky neighbor's dog who keeps craping on your lawn, after you've told the ****ing neighbor 3 times already!!
  • make 360 last longer
  • look cool
  • come with free copy of Spiderman 3

Well I bought Graw2 and it was having freezing problems(with some launch 360's) and i was told that if I used the cooler it would stop the issue. Well I bought it and it stopped the problem. However if you arent having any problems i wouldent recomend it.

The Nyko Inter-Cooler should be associated with Red-Lights...

I've only had one problem with my X360's so far... and this my friend was the reason...

This lil fan is connected in the back of the console,in the same spot you connect your powersource cable... The cable if you take it out... it's plastic all the way until it reaches the tip... which is made of metal... The fan is made out of plastic... and so is the lil nozzle you plug to the X360... I dont think I have to tell you what happens to plastic... when exposed to hot metal... The nozzle melts... clogging the receptors... Leaving the console with enough electricity to power up... But not to function...

So If I were you... I would stay clear of this...

As far as which cooler to buy???

I wouldn't really be able to recommend any... Since a lot of ppl find flaws with the ones in the market...
Ibought the Pelican Base Cooler... Recomended by a good friend of mine... but like I said... even this one has its own flaws... So... while we wait for an almighty cooler... Just keep your console in a open space where heat doesnt build up...

VegA_ Out...

i had been using the intercooler for about 4 months without any problems. then about 3 days ago it melted to the back of my xbox & when i tried to remove it, it pulled off 3 of the black electricalprong covers fromthe xbox. i left a message with nyko customer service. nyko called me back the next day and told me to send in my xbox, the intercooler & the power supply & they would send me a new xbox 360 free of charge in about 3 weeks, they even paid for the shipping. im kinda mad cause i was looking forward to playing ncaa football 08 & all pro footballnext week, but atleast i can look forward to a brand new system free of charge in time for madden 08. the bottom line is: the intercooler is very hit or miss but its not tooooo much of a risk because nyko has a great customer service policy & will replace adamaged system free of charge.
