According to other topics in this forum, The Orange Box for the 360 isn't too good. Of course it comes with five games, but Team Fortress 2 supposedly lags a lot and suffers from lack of players when it comes to online. It's a lot better for the PC. Chances are your computer can play TF2, so just buy it for your computer.

It is indeed excellent but there are several problems such as:

Team Fortress 2 servers are alot of times VERY laggy.

If you have played Half Life 2 and/or Episode 1 before then don't spend your money on it, the only other amazing game is Portal which you'll beat in only one sitting.

Half Life 2 episode 2 sucks i was very disapointed.

If you can buy the PC version= much better.

Those things aside its still very good.

I would say get it, because it has two great single player games, the HL2 story is pretty decent and the gravity gun is always fun. Portal is just so refreshing and fun to see what kind of ways you can think of to get through a level and the challenges will keep you busy forever. As for TF2, people bash it on the 360 because you have people who host 16 player matches that have the worst net connection and players come and go for that reason. I recommend you find some people on the Orange Box forum to play with and you will find people who like this game are the ones you want to play with, and once you find someone who can host a 16 player match with no or minimal lag add them as a friend and you should have no problems. For $100 you have to be kidding, I got my copy for $40, so I say you shop around. And to be safe just rent it first.

I think the games are great. They aren't your typical manic FPS games and you'll be fine as long as you aren't expecting that. I don't know where you're buying it for $100 though, since it retails at $60.

Where would you be buying it for $100? That's a complete ripoff. I think I got mine for $55 on day one (got $5 back for whatever reason). Orange Box is definitely worth it, but if you are planning on playing Team Fortress 2 a bunch, I'd strongly recommend getting it on PC. The 360 servers are full of lag and not-so-full of players.

The Orange Box is a great package, and its worth taking a look at to say the least. The half life series kept me entertained for the most part, even though I had already played HL2 on the PC I still found some fun in finding things I didn't notice before, and doing it in a different way. Half Life Episode 1 is a bit short and only really emphasies on developing characters more than anything else. I've not finished episode 2 yet so I can't comment on it!

Portal is almost perfect, however if you do not like challenging puzzles... then you may want to give it a miss. TF2 is a fun game, but you might as well just buy CoD4 if you are solely looking to buy TOB (The Orange Box) for TF2.

Oh, and a little tip... READ REVIEWS! ^_^

Don't judge the game if you have never played it.

Half Life 2 is now one of my favorite single players shooters, Ep 1 isn't that great, because it is basically the same as HL2.

Ep 2 was simply amazing.

Portal is extremely fun, though very short but you will want to play through it more then once.

TF2 can be laggy, but when you get into a game with no lag and nice people, it is tons of fun.

But WTF are you talking about, $100?

it's great. Portal's awesome and Half Life 2 is just great. I can't say that you'll enjoy TF2 the most, but it's decent.

It's good if you have a real old computer that can't play three-year-old games. I've heard nothing but complaints about TF2 on the 360 but it's great on the PC.

I have. It's a great deal of fun for the PC.

Don't be so quick to bash if you don't know the person.

Team fortress 2 lagged like a mother when I tried it on the 360, which is a shame because it's flawless on the PC. Damn ports. Pick it up for the PC if you have a reasonable computer, otherwise go for the 360 version.
