I'm getting a 360 and I just would like to know if its a problem anymore. Its been a while since its release and I would like to think that the problem is fixed.
It still happens, but much less frequently now. I bought my Xbox almost 2 years ago with little problems.
To be on the safe side buy it from Best Buy and drop 35$ on the replacement plan, it covers you for 2 years. If you have any problem at all, you bring them the console (Keep your Hard Drive) and they will open a brand new box right in front of you, take out the HD since you keep yours, and hand you the box to go home with. I haven't had to use mine yet, but it's reassuring. And 35$ is better than 350$
Yes it is, even with the Falcon/Opus revisions. My last console with the updated heatsink died after about 5 months of use. They still utilize the x-clamp (or whatever it's technically called) to connect the GPU to the motherboard and the solders can still weaken and crack over time and heat cycles. I don't believe it will be truly fixed until the late 2009 revision comes out with the updated all-in-one GPU/CPU.
I had my system for just over a year and I got the E74 error - thankfully I bought the 2 yr replacement plan so I just brought my xbox to Best Buy and swapped it for a brand new one. I got another 2 yr replacement plan on the new unit, and they have a slip stapled in there that the replacement plan no longer covers the RRoD
oh it is, my console RROD'd 3 days ago towel tricked it twice since then if it happens again its going to microsoft (for the seco nd time for this faultÂ
