I heard there will be a new Xbox 360 coming, one that is cheaper and will break down less. I heard this is happening because of a new chipset and processor that produces less heat. I'm going to wait for it, i hope it's going to be 200-250. Does anybody know when it's coming? Or some approximate guess on it?
Yes, but one of the guys from Microsoft said 199 was the sweet spot. I think the new system will be 199 (at least the core system i mean). I think the 20GB version would be 250, which means the Wii is going to be in big trouble.
When is the release of this new XBox 360 going to happen?? I am getting an XBox 360 soon, just wondering if I should wait for this "Better / Cheaper" Version.
i guess it will be this fall, maybe even around September-October just when GTA 4 is coming. This could be the defining move for MS to make to win this battle for good. They have 3 major games (GTA4, Halo 3, and Madden) all coming in one swoop, along with a 200 dollar price point, it could mean they'd win this console war for good.
The 65nm chipset will be smaller, more reliable and cheaper to produce.
However, it must be noted that the smaller chipset will probably be put inside the same 360 case, so we won't see any benefit on that front. Also, "cheaper to produce" doesn't automatically translate to "cheaper for the consumer". More likely it will translate to "profit for MS to offset the $1 billion that they are going to lose on warranties forthe previous flawed version", at least for a while.
