Im worried about my 360 breaking... I got it pre-owned about 2 days ago and I have to say it makes such weird loud noises like its in pain/dying so much clunking and clanking noises comming from the machine... does yours do the same or isit my machine that has the problem..?Eski_BoiUmm.. Mine doesn't do that at all and I've had it for about a year. I would get that checked out man.
I got it pre-ownedEski_Boi1st mistake and it was a major one. If you purchased it from a store, get a full refund before its too late. The 360 is a great gaming console but it is a terrible terrible electronic device. I'd only buy one new. Anything else is like competing on Fear Factor except there's no $50,000 for taking the risk.
I think the reason why it has lasted this long is from me leaving a disc in it all the time. It most likely covers the laser, slightly protecting it from harful bits of dust. My friend religiously takes out his discs and he is on his second xbox. CHAVEY6
Speaking of...my elite's disc drive comes out and in kind of slow..and it doesn't always read the disc on the first time, I have to open it and close it sometimes. It only happened since the new NXE install-option thing.darkSIDEechoesSame thing here except i have an arcade i just bought like 1 month ago!! Its all MS fault!
For the record...if you have disc read errors, the simple "open system (and disc drive) and clean" worked for me SO FAR. After playing a fun game of 'Will it read the disc THIS time?' for about 15 minutes or so, I opened it up (easy guides online, I suggest making a plastic key from a blank CD case topper, google it.) and cleaned it out with duster.
Read the disc 3/3 times so far, trying not to jynx myself.
