I play in my small room and right now play on a decent 20 inch toshiba that plays in 480. I was wondering if It is worth it sacraficing 2 inches to play in 720, is it that different? Thanks

Yeah playing in HD even if smaller makes a big difference in 360 games because then you can actually read the words on the screen. Like have you tried Dead Rising in SD its impossible to see words on the screen.

19 inch is realy small for a TV though... i wouldnt get less then 26" if i were you. ull regret it later.

32" is the sweet spot imo. u can grab a nice 32" for around 400 bucks.

I am very happy with my size of my twenty, so I think 1 inch will not be too much of a loss. Besides , this is for my bedroom, so probally only I or 1frined will have to look at it

I agree with this guy. While 720 is a big step up from 480, bigger resolutions benefit from bigger screens so I would recommend you save up for something better, go for at least a 28". I understand that money can be an issue because it is for me lol. So I am saving up for this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889102222 1080p baby yeah! Ummm... yeah might be able to get it next month. Oh yeah forgot to mention i am playing on a computer monitor 5-6 years old and it's not even a LCD. Old school CRT baby. Sucks.

If you are satisfied with your new LCD that great. The 720p will make a big difference in those games that display that 720 resolution. Just curl up and enjoy.

Stringer, no it is not worth it, you can get a 27in 720 way more worth it for $300. Ask your parents if they can lend you a $100 for the better one or get it somehow, I played on a 20in like you for a long time and it was pretty good. Not much different than now certainly better picture, but its not like the standard didn't do just fine. Well i bought a 32in HDTV and even then i was thinking is it even worth it just 12 extra inches? of course it makes a big difference. I wouldn't do it for the same size tv just in HD when you could get a 27in for $100 more. I don't know if 720 makes a big difference on a 19in TV either, 480 is probably fine. At stores like 6thAve, Walmart they always have really good deals in store. I've seen Sony 27in HD720 and Sharp, for just $300. Also read peoples reviews of that TV, i think $200 is certainly a good price for a 19"HDTV, but for the extra $100 you can get a name brand 27in. So i have 2 TV's side by side, one for TV to have on sports games(my old 20in SDTV), and i have my 360 on the 32in HDTV. I would consider getting that $200 TV to replace my SD on the side, but if it were to be my main tv to play on i would have to spring the extra $100 for 27in.

19 inch is small if you wanna sit back on a recliner or chair and play. i have a 22 inch monitor and i cant stand sitting more then 2 ft away from it. even while watching movies never mind gaming where it counts...

Anything HD will make your xbox 360 look good.

But you should look into 1080, and make sure the TV has HDMI inputs.

Stringer, no i would say it's no good. I don't think 720 really matters on a 19in TV. You can get a 27in HDTV for around $300, name brand like SONY or SHARP too. Check stores like 6thAve(6ave), Walmart, they will have real good deals, i hear Vizio is a good HDTV you can find for cheap. I'd say that $200 is a good price for a 19in HDTV, but for $100 more for 27in thats way more worth it to do, imo. I have 2 TV's side by side one HD 32in that i use to play 360 on, the other one is 20in SD that i use to keep TV on usually sports games. The only way i'd consider getting that TV or any 20in HDTV for $200, is if it was me upgrading from a 13in, i wouldn't do it for just an HD upgrade and no size difference. The only other thing is if I were to buy it to be my second TV to have the sports games on. So unless if your upgrading from 13 in or using it as a 2nd TV i wouldn't recommend it. I'd recommend going to your local 6thAve and seeing what floor deals they have, see where they have their cheaper HDTV's, there should be a small section with good name HDTVs at great prices, and get yourself a nice 27in HDTV maybe SONY for $300. Or check walmart, like i said Vizio i've heard is a nice brand with a nice price. That's my recommendation, good luck. edit-sorry for writing same thing twice i didn't know it posted, i wish i did. Well let me say this, i used to play on a 20in SDTV and like these people say, i don't think it was too small, the picture wasn't blurry, except for words in games like Dead Rising. I thought my 20in was good, i was upgrading from 20inSD to 32inHD, it seemed like the right thing to do. There was times i thought about the money i'd pay and was thinking this 20in does me just fine. Well I thought how i could have HD and put my old 20in on the side for sports games and i came around to getting the HDTV. I don't think 20 is small and i don't think standard def is horrible. I would not buy the same size TV just to go HD though or even lose an inch, i don't think 720 matters on that size of a TV either and i doubt it would, i think you should get 480 at that size. I wouldn't spend money just to go HD on the same size TV that small though, that small you have to make an upgrade with HD make it to the 27in. If it's a 32in SDTV and you want to get a 32in HD i can see that but 20in, go 27 HD.

MMM, k... whatever floats your boat.

But im sure most people agree that when buying a TV ( TELEVISION ) not a ( MONITOR ) you have to consider your view distance 19 inch is too small for sitting 4-5 FT away.

Yeah I recently bought a 19" HD with a built in DVD player, and I regret it already. The DVD player alone bumped the price about $150. The picture is amazing, but it's just too small. :(
