I just wondered if anyone else experiences slow downs? For me occassionally after a bit of play, I'll go to load up the guide or look at a friends profile it slows right down, almost to the point where I think it is frozen. After about 20-45secs it fixes itself and catches up, other times if I hold the guide button down long enough, the window goes away, and it pops back up asking me to Turn off controller or Turn off console..

It only started happening around the time the NXE came out, but I also got back a refurbished Elite around the same time and can't tell if thats the reason.

Any input would be helpful.

Why don't you try to erase the cache memory from your hard drive? I don't know the button sequence but I'm sure you can google it.

Remember that you are using the same hard drive, no matter you recieved a refurbished Xbox. I hope it helps you out with your issue.

I went and did it, and so far it seems to be running WAAAY better. For the record clearing the cache does not delete anything but games updates and stuff no DLC or maps or anything. The following are the step to clearing your cache: 1.) goto dashboard 2.) goto my xbox blade 3.) goto "my settings" 4.) select "memory" 5.) highlight the hard drive and push "y" 6.) push x, x, left bumper, right bumper, x, x 7.) box will pop up and ask to perform matinence, select yes Thanks to Rick_Moni for the help!! :D

nah xboxes used to lock up on different screens on the old dashbaord just at different points. usually when it cant get the info off the net its requesting fast enough from ur broadband i find. dont bother holding down buttons it does nothing,. just wait and it will kick back in. i norm find it happens at beggingn of games when loading if i load the dash while its loading a game. but always on a part of the guide that has internet content like my friends list
