Ive done something stupid please help

Hi there

when i bought my 360 in august i registerd it on the internet first and typed in a name for my gamer tag.

the name i typed in to my console was different to the one i typed in online. now when i got my wifi adaptor it told me to recover my gamertag which i did and.....ALL OF MY ACHIEVMENTS HAVE GONE!!!!! i have 5800G

anyway...how do i get those back do i have to play through all those games again?

Just recover it, as long as you still remember the e-mail and password for it you can still get it back on your 360.Strife88

If you read the post properly he says he tried to recover it.

im not sure i had a similar problem i hope you dont have to work for all those achivements again

What? Well 5k is not much anyway. See what you actually did was make a new account not carry your other one over.

Once you recover an account from Live there is no way to go back and reclaim the gamerscore you had, unless it is under a different gamertag.

If you have ever recovered your gamertag to play on someone elses xbox, then after a while decide to connect your own 360 to the internet it realises you have the incorrect profile. When you recover the tag, it recovers back to the last time it was connected to the internet, and so you lose any gamerscore earnt since it was previously online

I did the same thing. MY question is that hwne you went to play the xbox...were you already connected to xbox live? My mistake was that whne I went to play...at the time I wasn't connected because I couldn't plug in the internet cord...so I had to make a offline account. Then when I went to make it an xboxl ive account it didn't work. I had recovered the account I made on Xbox.com and redo my achivement because when you do't have live and you start the system unless you upgrade to gold right away then you have to redo everything.

Seems to me that you were never actually connected to Live in the first place in which you just had an offline profile on your system that never updates over Live. So when you recovered the gamertag you made on the internet it had nothing on it cause you have never downloaded it to your system.

Best thing you can do is see if you system still has that offline profile on it, sign in to it, and join live/make a new gamertag with that profile via your 360.

As for the King Kong I thought the game was actually pretty good though I have played many games for the achievements when I get bored, reason why I have a score of 34k+

I didn't say they were worthless i just said that 5k is a lot in my eyes because i dont play for achievements, i know if i lost my 2k achievement points id be frustrated too. and i dont even have half of what he has.

You have not lost your achievements all you did was sign in on a different profile so you can

go on the settings blade and redo what you just did this time though sign in with the profile you got the achievements on.

By the way if you still have problems the eeasiest way for you is to call 1800 -4my -Xbox and they will hagfve all the answers u need.
