iz there any way possible to get a better quality on a stv?

i have a standard tv with component ports in da bac if i put component plugs in da bac will it make the quality a little bit betta

Of course it will. Component is the highest an SDTV can go. I seriously doubt any SDTV has VGA but yeah, component will be a HUGE improvement over the composite (Red, Yellow, White) cables. Unless you're already using S-Video, then the quality won't be that big of a jump.

yeah it is doing 480p on a stv will make it look better of course the tv has to support progressive but i think most do. it will make things look a little more clear but is still a far cry from hd

Sophette is absolutely correct. Even if you are using S-video, component will be a big difference. S-vid is closer to composite than component.
