they need to stop accusing video games, i did some research and wrote a paper a few weeks ago on how the violent crime rates(with people aged 12 and older) have dropped drastically since the release of the Playstation one...and it has continued to decline as video games have become more popular... instead of thinking of games as a source, they might want to consider it a cure...

Assuming that this e-mail is real. then this guy must be a complete moron... Halo 3, "Hyperviolent"... Not true at all, as for getting rid of all the squeky, chocolate milk drinking, team killing, whining idiots who I always run into in Halo 2, and now Halo 3, I wouldn't mind that so much... But as the ratings are only a "Suggestion", there is no legal argument here, especially since it is the SOLE responsibility of the retailer to make sure the consumer is of age.........

Jack has totally lost it and delusional for three reasons. First he hasn't won a single case and he thinks he can take on MS? Second how is Halo 3 a "hyperviolent" game? And third how is MS responsible for their games being sold to underage kids and not the individual retail outlets? He has absolutly no idea what he is talking about.

Questions for Jack: How is using a gamepad even close to firing a real gun? How is Halo 3 "hyperviolent"? How are parents not (at least partly) responsible? How do you sleep at night?

He really shouldn't be picking on Microsoft. I mean does he not know how big they are? Its not as if hes sueing the local game shop. They laugh at his law suit and then sue for every penny hes got and kick him out into the streets like a bum.

And anyway, Halo 3? Violent? I'm not a huge fan of Halo but its not violent, just harmless fun. There are much worse games with lower age ratings out there.

Not to go way off topic here, but I'm really surprised that Jack'o here didn't go after more "realistic" and "related" games like Rainbow Six Vegas since I would think the Vegas campus and the Glock 18c would give Jack (in his mind) a good reason to further blame videogames.. Also I think he really has gone overboard trying to "warn" (LOL goodluck trying to sue good o'l Gates O.J. Trial all over again..) Bungie/MS since Halo has you killing aliens trying to destroy humanity! I mean if it was me I'd like to know how to beat an alien race all by myself.. Wouldn't you??

This guy's a **** moron. Halo and Halo 2 were hardly worthy of an M rating, they were almost T games. Halo 3 won't be "hyperviolent" either. Want "hyperviolent"? Try Gears or GTA lol.

parents are the ones that add to the percentage because they are the ones buyin their kids those games. So its not fault of the ESRB. its the parental figures that neglect the fact that the game is rated "M". and JT has too much time on his hands...lol

its the parents responsibility to make sure a kid not at least 17 years old doesn't play this game not bill gates.  Its the retailers job not to sell rated M games to kids.  Bill Gates has nothing to do with it.  its the parents choice on whether or not their child plays this game.

I don't know for a fact that it's made up, but without a link, I can only take it as such.  True, there is no proof that it didn't

happen, but that's now how it works.  He posted it, the burden of providing proof is his.  A lawyers job is to prove some did

something, not everyone else in the world DIDN'T do it.  He posted it, he should provide some proof that it's true.

Actually, that's not even the issue, the issue, is that everyone else, is getting themselves all riled up over a damn

rumor on the internet, calling the guy a lawyer, for a comment that, for all we know, is bull.  Why don't we jump to some

more conclusions while we're at it.  I heard Bill Gates say he hated mexicans, let's flame him for that while we're at it.

True, it may be made up bull crap, but who cares, I'm gonna get pissed at him anyway!!!

heh, let me ask you something.  Do you think that video games have decreased the amount of violence in people 12 and older?  You're right, maybe it does, maybe it doesn't, but for him to say one affects the other, that's bull.  Just because an event happens during the same time as something else, does NOT mean the two are interconnected.  You wanna know the thousands of things that happened around 9/11?  That doesn't mean they are connected, that logic doesn't work.

I need to print something out for school.  My printer won't do it.  I conclude that my printer does not want me to suceed at

school, bow before my infalible logic.

heh, let me ask you something.

I'm not saying that the two(video games and violent crimes) were connected. I'm saying that Jack Thompson's claim of how video games are the cause of violent crimes can't be credible, because the crime rate has actually declined continually since the playstation release. The media is making people think that video games have increased the violence in society, but it has decreased since it has become more popular. ill try to find the links and post them to prove my point.

I do not know if Thompson has ever fired a real gun or not, but it is a lot different than firing a video game gun.

Huh....I have no problem with this demand on Jack Thompson, he is making no outrageous claims. All he wants is proper steps taken to help ensure that Halo 3 is not sold to minors, which I am behind 100%.

You said instead of thinking of it as a source, we should think of games as a cure, and commented on how the release of the ps1, coincited with a decrease in violent crimes.

i'm so sick and tired of this guy, he needs a new hobby, someone should melee him with a limited edition copy of Halo 3 for mentioning the name of this sacred game.
