Jack has totally lost it and delusional for three reasons. First he hasn't won a single case and he thinks he can take on MS? Second how is Halo 3 a "hyperviolent" game? And third how is MS responsible for their games being sold to underage kids and not the individual retail outlets? He has absolutly no idea what he is talking about.
Questions for Jack: How is using a gamepad even close to firing a real gun? How is Halo 3 "hyperviolent"? How are parents not (at least partly) responsible? How do you sleep at night?

careful, he'll read that and interpret it as a threat to his life and call the FBI on Gamespot/CNet just like he did for Kotaku.
they need to stop accusing video games, i did some research and wrote a paper a few weeks ago on how the violent crime rates(with people aged 12 and older) have dropped drastically since the release of the Playstation one...and it has continued to decline as video games have become more popular... instead of thinking of games as a source, they might want to consider it a cure...a55a55inx
How do you figure?  How do you figure games have decreased violent crimes?  That logic doesn't work.Â
He really shouldn't be picking on Microsoft. I mean does he not know how big they are? Its not as if hes sueing the local game shop. They laugh at his law suit and then sue for every penny hes got and kick him out into the streets like a bum.
And anyway, Halo 3? Violent? I'm not a huge fan of Halo but its not violent, just harmless fun. There are much worse games with lower age ratings out there.Â
He made Best Buy change, but does he know who he is threatening?!?! Microsoft can make him disappear.Light_Destroyer
LOLOLOLOLOL OMFG FUNNY SH**!! Someone should so make a video about M/S (and prob whole gaming community) simply makin Mr.Thompson "disappear". Lol manÂ
They should a send guy in Spartan Armor to come "negotiate" with him.

lol, well I wanna know where it said video games decrease violent tendencies in people 12 and older.  He said violence
has decreased since the ps1's release, but that doesn't mean the two were connected.  Sheesh, tons of shows, books,Â

work, because it doesn't.  Come back when you get to High School.Â
its the parents responsibility to make sure a kid not at least 17 years old doesn't play this game not bill gates. Its the retailers job not to sell rated M games to kids. Bill Gates has nothing to do with it. its the parents choice on whether or not their child plays this game. sirk1264

I don't know for a fact that it's made up, but without a link, I can only take it as such.  True, there is no proof that it didn't
happen, but that's now how it works.  He posted it, the burden of providing proof is his.  A lawyers job is to prove some did
something, not everyone else in the world DIDN'T do it.  He posted it, he should provide some proof that it's true.
Â
Actually, that's not even the issue, the issue, is that everyone else, is getting themselves all riled up over a damn
rumor on the internet, calling the guy a lawyer, for a comment that, for all we know, is bull.  Why don't we jump to some
more conclusions while we're at it.  I heard Bill Gates say he hated mexicans, let's flame him for that while we're at it.
True, it may be made up bull crap, but who cares, I'm gonna get pissed at him anyway!!!Â

how is he using circular logic if he has only made one post stating that he did a research paper about how video games decrease the crime rate.we dont know if it did or didnt because we simply havnt seen the facts.heh, let me ask you something. Â Do you think that video games have decreased the amount of violence in people 12 and older? Â You're right, maybe it does, maybe it doesn't, but for him to say one affects the other, that's bull. Â That doesn't mean they are connected, that logic doesn't work.

He should be going after Tom McClancy and his racist violent games:lol:Â

I'm not saying that the two(video games and violent crimes) were connected. I'm saying that Jack Thompson's claim of how video games are the cause of violent crimes can't be credible, because the crime rate has actually declined continually since the playstation release. The media is making people think that video games have increased the violence in society, but it has decreased since it has become more popular. ill try to find the links and post them to prove my point.
I do not know if Thompson has ever fired a real gun or not, but it is a lot different than firing a video game gun.FearNinja
exactly, how can a videogame make a person more skilled at shooting a gun, i doubt hes ever fired a real gun as well...jackies a moronÂ

You said instead of thinking of it as a source, we should think of games as a cure, and commented on how the release of the ps1, coincited with a decrease in violent crimes.Â
