I've had my 360 since the Aussie launch, I did however get the red rings about a week after getting it but I turned it off then back on again and they went away. My DVD drive how ever is pretty f*****, pain in the arse to open and once it is open it has an annoying tendency to slam back shut before I can get the disc in. Also dirty disc errors and freezing seem to be getting more frequent, probably a sign it's dying but I hope not... *Crosses fingers*
im on my 2nd xbox but my first one never got rrod and this one hasnt either
its been about 9 months combined
y don't u guys get a ps3 its alot better then waiting for ur 360 to come back. :SMrbiggerdems
That's what I play waiting on my 360 to come back
I've had my 360 Pro since just before thanksgiving 2006, and havent had a RROD yet. The worst thing I've had is a disk read error or unreadable disk while in the middle of playing either NCAA 08 or Madden 08 I forget which one. But I own COD4, RB6 Vegas, Halo 3, Bioshock, etc and havent had any disk error problems. But after reading for days now how many people are on there 3rd, 4th, even 9th xbox, thats INSANE!!. Now I'm scared to even turn my 360 on anymore. Is there anyone out there like me that has had there 360 for a year or more and hasnt had a RROD?? Instead of reading about who HAS had a RROD, I want to read about who HASNT had it so maybe I can feel a little better
thanks

I've had it, but my 360 didn't break. It was in Sept. 06, it happened twice, then it was fine, and it wasn't the fake one with all 4 lit up, it was only the 3. I'm still on that same Xbox.

i had my 360 for a year and a half and like everybody is saying it was working perfectly but suddently one day when i least expect it, it happened.
Took me about a year, but I got one. Got it back pretty quickly though. The problem was that I decided to use it as an excuse to buy an Elite and the one I bought was broken in the box. Best Buy Product Replacement Plan FTW. I mean, it was within the return policy period, but still. I got one this time. Screw waiting 3+ weeks.
But yeah, given the generous warranty policy, I honestly wouldn't have cared... except for the DRM. You remember December when Xbox Live was down just about all month? I couldn't play Oblivion because it couldn't access XBL to verify that I was supposed to have Shivering Isles and every other DLC add-on (except horse armor) for that game. I've purchased 30 arcade games from MS... maybe more. Couldn't play any of them during that time period.
At that point, I decided I'm not buying any more DLC from MS. No more Rock Band tracks (bought a second copy for PS3), no more Bomberman Live Bomb Up packs, no more Lumines skins (as much as it pains me to say that -- I LOVE that game!), no more level packs, nada. If MS changes their DRM policy, then they'll get me back (especially since Rez is tantalizing as all hell), but until then I'm pretty much holding onto this console to play Fable 2.
I've been kinda bummed out about it, really. If not for the reliability issues, the 360 would rank up there with the NES and PS2 for me, but as it stands, I'm probably going to be buying the PS3 version of all cross platform games because of it. My achievement ho-ing days are over, I guess. The free time's been killing me. Been getting a lot of reading done though. Just finished the "Tao Te Ching". Total mind-F.
