I know the Xbox One isn't sounding like the best console right now. I know the 'used games' topic is so screwed up with all the confusion surrounding it. I know the TV applies to pretty much none of the people on GameSpot/IGN/Game Informer/whatever -- except for me. I think I'll use it simply because I think it would be pretty awesome to instantly switch from gaming to watching TV for a quick break, then back to gaming. Anyway, I digress, to the purpose of this post:

If you are a competitive gamer and use things like GameBattles, imagine the simplicity in the new snap-shot, or whatever it's called. Think about pulling up a side screen, going to GameBattles, sending a challenge, sending game invites, playing, then reporting the winner -- all without leaving your chair. Sure, you could do that now with your phone/laptop/computer, but this is all without walking away from your TV screen. This is wonderful, I think.

Can you see yourself using snap-shot for this or any other reason?

Dude look... a video game console should be made primarily FOR video games and should sideline all other features as being secondary  because that is what a video game console is supposed to do' give the user an amazing gaming experience

And Ontop of that Microsoft has no shame, they're not even trying to hide the fact that they're in it for the money. They want you to pay for everything that other companies offer for free and with less of hastle. I like The New Xbox but with Microsoft at the helm. . . . F#CK'EM!

OP, I see what your saying. I am a long time Xbox user and I don't see my self jumping ship at this point in my gaming hobby. But from the get go at the 360 launch MS made it clear that they were wanting to take over the living room. So I am not surprised at what they showed at the revile. Right now my 360 is used for gaming, Netflix, and I even watch my Verizon TV on my Xbox. The One is just going to add onto what the 360 can do. At this years E3 I know the games are going to be there, I want to see Live get better. For my Live hopes I want to see MS make a platinum, mixed with Live with the PS Plus. Also I want to see the max player count raised from 24 to a larger number for online multiplayer match's.

Yes, that is true, but there are no longer gaming consoles besides the Wii U. The PS and Xbox will be entertainment system here on out.

The number count will be larger! That was something I heard and was excited about.

I'm waiting for E3. I already play Xbox and some PC (would play more if my PC didn't suck ass cheese). But so far, the XB1 is a fine piece of machinery, but for me personally, I want to see what they're doing regarding video games -- the main reason it's supposed to exist. If E3 proves they care about casual gamers only, If I don't like the E3 showing, I will build my last PC on ibuypower and actually order it, and that'll be the end of it all for me.

You should alread have a "source" or "input" or "hdmi" button on your remote control for exactly this purpose.

Very true, and I do. I was a actually referring to the voice controls for that, but failed to mention that in the original post. Sorry.

What are you talking about. You don't think Sony wants to make money? Sony NEEDS to make money this gen or they are pretty screwed. What happens if the XBone sells like the Wii did to non exclusive gamers AND gamers but it as well. Guess what, they will sell more hardware. If Microsoft can make a console that plays games and has the other stuff for other people all in the same box, then why not do it.

I didn't mean for this post to be an "Xbox One vs PS4" thread. I was just thinking about useful ways to use the snap-shot for some Xbox-loving naysayers that were thinking of switching over. This isn't a System Wars post, guys and gals.

Am i the only one who sees consoles as entertainment systems? Heck, the NES was the Nintendo Entertainment System, if they wanted to they could of built it around more than one entertainment factor. I never saw consoles as just for video games, but as a hub that gives me options on how i can relieve my bordem. Some times, ill be bored of playing the only video games i have might as well give me other options to do on it or it'll be sitting there.

Atleast Sony has the decency to pretend like they care, they believe, at the very least, we are worth lying to. I don't mind being patronised by a large company, hell I expect it, but with Microsoft its like " Hello you moron, this is (insert gimmick), we know its uncomfortable, now hand over the money".

I know dude. I just like how other companies value their consumers enough to lie to them, something thats slowly dissappearing in the video game industry. I think they finaly realised we're not as smart as we appear to be, so Microsoft is pushing bit by bit to see where we draw the line, and if you ask me, they making good progress, they can probably squeeze in actual Rape and theft before we say enough is enough. Seriously, I can practicaly already feel the white and green phantom d!ldo robbing me of my dignity.

dont get me wrong, im not happy with the used game fiasco MS is doing atm

but until both systems are released and everything is 100% certain, no point getting your panties in a knot

if MS screws the gaming public over as much as it seems right now, well vote with your wallet and buy a PC or ps4

its a long time till the machines are released so anything could happen between now and then

Dude, look.... As long as there are still great games being released, does it really that matter? Quit complaining. If you want to use the social &/or entertainment features, use them. If not, simply ignore them.

agreed!

remember all the $hit talk that went on about 360 before and for awhile after its release saying it was xbox 1.5

then it kicked ps3 easily

you arent forced to buy consoles on launch day

wait awhile and see which one has the games you want to play the most. cant judge a system 6 months before its even released

This is the Xbox section of the forums. If you want to talk up the Playstation, please escort yourself to the Playstation or System Wars forum. This was something I wanted to talk about with Xbox gamers thinking the snap mode was a useless thing. .
