So when i got home, my parents were like "WHY DO YOU HAVE BAT? WHY DID YOU GET A BAT?" i was like the the heck? so i looked in the USPS box and it was a Grand Theft Auto IV bat. Apparently there is no clear address of where it came from. i was like "WHOA!!! HOLY....." Does anyone know about these? are these rare? How did rockstar get my address? does microsoft have anything to do with this? anyone know any info about it?

It seems these are legit as there are a bunch of threads over on the GTAIV boards where other people have suddenly had these appear - though very slow delivery as the sign up was way back in March/April last year!! Congrats on getting one EDIT - WOW on looking at the amount of MS points being given away!!

Yeah I entered that and apparently won the custom Xbox 360 Elite...so hopefully this is a sign that it's coming in REALLY soon. That bat is sweet though LOL.

haha, nice..well, this could be a marketing ploy similar to something Nintendo tried a couple years ago..they sent out random boxes, filled with plastic hands, as advertising for the Nintendo DS slogan, "Touching is Good"...and the bat is probably the safest weapon that could be sent out to advertise..

Our of curiosity, did you guys not get letters from the company who hosted the contest with Microsoft? I got one midway through December about the 360 I won in the contest, but it said it would take 10-12 weeks to get it then. I'm guessing you didn't though from your reactions....

I got one of these too. However, it was not 3rd place prize, it was 2nd and there were 2000 of them given away. Keep in mind, these are not to be confused with the FREE promotional bat with the blood spatter which were given away when the game launched. These are just plain old every day aluminum bats with a silk-screened GTA IV logo and a Rockstar Logo. That's it. Still...worth about $50 around the net. I'm gonna' be giving mine away on my Freebie site...so, it was worth it...FREE. LOL! Congrats to the rest of the winners! ROCK ON!
